Job Context:
∎ The CP Assistant is responsible for providing support in the various CP functions, which include static and mobile PSS activities for children, adolescents and caregivers, awareness and registration activities, community mobilization, information dissemination and coordination meetings with camp officials and other CP PSS actors,
∎ Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh) is an international non-profit voluntary organization working in Bangladesh since 1974. Its delegation office is located in Dhaka. The CP Officer is to be based in the field where Tdh is planning to engage to help the displaced people came from Myanmar and the local community in accessing child protection services. The positions require direct contact with beneficiaries and implementation of activities
Job Responsibilities:
∎ To conduct PSS activities in the static Child Friendly Space and adolescent clubs
∎ To conduct PSS activities with the Caregivers
∎ Ensure that children and adolescents have access to the protection desk with all its facilities inside the CFS
∎ To monitor children progress in the CFS, identify children in need and refer special cases to the respective sector as soon as identified
∎ Conduct basic counselling to children and adolescent that requires it ; Follow up on cases that are rejected by other service providers and create a psychosocial support plan for it
∎ Supervise the community mobilisers to conduct frequent home visits to check on the children and adolescents that are not attending the activities
∎ To conduct the registration and awareness session activities of children, adolescents and caregivers
∎ Prepare, in coordination with other PSS officers and community volunteers, work plans with clear objectives and achievement benchmarks, long-term and short-term priorities and implementation plans
∎ Constantly updates the PSS TL on the project progress or on any modifications that need to be taken regarding the implementation process
∎ Conduct weekly meeting with each PSS officer in order to receive and review cases of children and adolescents that require additional support
∎ Fill up the attendance and monitoring forms of the PSS activities
∎ Reports to the TL on regular basis on children, adolescent and caregivers progress in the activities
∎ Daily, Weekly and monthly report to the Team Leader
∎ Assure that child protection standards are understood and applied and support the PSS Officers and community volunteers in establishing a clear referral system
∎ Maintain and strengthen the relations with the other organizations dealing with CP and psychosocial support
∎ Maintain and strengthen regular contact with site management agencies and camp in charge officials
∎ Manage the materials used for activities and report on any lost items
∎ To ensure proper documentation of data collected (hard and soft copies)
∎ Any other task relevant to the position or asked by the supervisor to implement

∎ Prior Work Experience: Minimum 6 month of experience in Child Protection field based PSS/CP activities with INGO or Local NGO is required.
∎ Skills and Abilities: Organized, discreet, and people oriented. Possess strong communication skills (both oral and written), able to communicate with tact and diplomacy, and be able to work effectively with employees at all levels of an organization. Skills with MS Office applications -Word, Excel, PowerPoint - and the capacity to learn new software applications.
∎ Language Proficiency: English and Bangla skills are required for writing, typing and speaking. Ability to speak the Chittagonian dialect is a MUST. English Language and Chittagonian dialect proficiency will be tested.
