Educational Requirements:
∎ Post Graduation degree in Psychology or Clinical Psychology from a reputable university.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ 1. Health, STI, and HIV Counseling:
∎ Conduct individual and group counseling sessions on sexual health, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and HIV prevention and management.
∎ Provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding SRHR, safe sex practices, contraceptive options, and family planning.
∎ Conduct initial assessments and regular evaluations (Pre and Post Test by assessment/ Screening tools) of the mental health and emotional well-being of the sex workers, identifying any underlying trauma, stress, or psychosocial concerns that may require additional support or referrals.
∎ 2. Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Counseling:
∎ Deliver compassionate and culturally sensitive MHPSS counseling to individuals dealing with psychosocial challenges, distress, and trauma.
∎ Based on the assessments, counselors and MHPSS officers create personalized care plans for affected population. These plans often include evidence-based therapy modalities, coping strategies, and referrals to other support services, as needed.
∎ Provide psychosocial support and counseling services to individuals and communities affected by crisis and conflict, with specific attention to SRHR needs. This position will be responsible for assessing the mental health and psychosocial needs of beneficiaries, implementing appropriate interventions, and ensuring the overall well-being and resilience of the target population
∎ 3. Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Case Management:
∎ Respond to cases of GBV among beneficiaries with empathy, confidentiality, and a Survivor-Centered Approach.
∎ Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and safety planning to survivors of GBV preserving the filled-up intake forms.
∎ Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for survivors following referral pathway mechanisms maintaining regular follow-up.
∎ 4. Deal with Key Vulnerable Population:
∎ Create a non-judgmental and safe space for Sex Workers and Especially Vulnerable Adolescents (EVA) to access SRHR and MHPSS services through outreach and in-house mechanisms.
∎ Develop targeted counseling programs to address the specific needs and challenges faced by these groups including SOGI population.
∎ 5. MHPSS Working Group Representation:
∎ Actively participate in MHPSS working group meetings, contributing insights, updates, and feedback on project activities.
∎ Collaborate with other stakeholders to coordinate efforts and strengthen the overall MHPSS response.
∎ 6. Self-Care:
∎ Given the emotionally demanding nature of counseling work, counselors and MHPSS officer will prioritize their self-care to prevent burnout and ensure they can continue providing effective support to survivors.
∎ 7. Documentation & Reporting:
∎ Maintain detailed and confidential records of all counseling sessions, including assessments, interventions, and progress notes.
∎ Compile and analyze data related to counseling outcomes for periodical reporting and project evaluation purposes.
∎ 8. Teamwork:
∎ Work collaboratively with other project staff, including healthcare providers, social workers, and community workers, to ensure a holistic approach to SRHR, MHPSS and GBV services.
∎ Support capacity building initiatives and offer mentorship to other team members as needed.
∎ Communicate regularly and share updates with other Counselors considering as a fundamental aspect of fostering a strong and effective support network within the counseling team.
∎ Dedicate to ensuring the safety and well-being of all team members, promoting and implementing safeguarding standards, and actively encouraging the reporting of any incidents in line with established procedures of SHEA.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum 3 years of experience in the MHPSS field. Priority will be given to qualified females proficient in the Chittagonian dialect.

∎ Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
∎ Representation of BANDHU’s Counseling intervention in respective working group meetings.
∎ Proficiency in relevant languages spoken by the target population

Salary: Tk. 41161 (Monthly)
