Essential Qualifications
- 10–20 years’ progressive experience in grants/business development for NGOs or social enterprise with experience working in Donor organizations like UN, ILO, Oxfam,World Bank.
- Proven wins and stewardship of multi-year awards (≥USD 500k+), including sub-grants/sub-contracts.
- Demonstrated partner management and selection, especially with private companies (PSE, shared value, SIINC, CSR).
- Strong design skills (ToC/logframe), budgeting with donors, and compliance (safeguarding, PSEA, data protection).
- Excellent writing (English) and facilitation; ability to lead remote, multi-country bid teams.

About the Roles
Light of Hope is building a roster of five senior Grants Specialists to lead fundraising and partnership development across the above sectors. Ideal consultants bring deep donor experience and a strong track record achieving complex grants and managing partner selection/management with private-sector engagement.
Engagement & Level of Effort
- Remote, part-time
- Contract: 12-month renewable consultancy roster.
- Start: ASAP.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage a rolling pipeline of funding opportunities (bilateral, UN, foundations, corporate/PSE).
- Lead proposal strategy: design workshops, theory of change, logframe/MEL plan, risk & safeguarding, and value-for-money.
- Develop compliant proposals: technical narrative, budget & cost notes, workplan, staffing, and annexes.
- Conduct partner scoping, due diligence, and private-sector engagement (co-creation, cash/in-kind leverage, MOUs).
- Support grant start-up and handover: compliance matrix, reporting calendar, partner sub-award packages.
- Strengthen internal systems: templates, checklists, lessons learned, and bid/no-bid criteria.
- Mentor program and BD teams on donor rules (USAID, FCDO, GAC, EU, UN, World Bank, corporate CSR).
