The SDS (Shariatpur Development Society) was established in 1991 as a non-profit, non-political, non-governmental voluntary organization, initiated by some dedicated and committed local individuals involved in social service activities. SDS works to alleviate poverty, empower women through skill training and microcredit support, promote human rights and social justice, engage in advocacy and campaigns, address climate change and environmental issues, implement disaster preparedness activities, and improve health, hygiene, and the entire WASH system. Additionally, it aims to enhance Bangladesh's socio-economic status and overall livelihood to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
