  • Minimum Three years of experience in a similar role.

  • Clear understanding on protection issues, CCCM, human rights, DRR and self-resilience

  • Able to take decision in a timely manner, prioritize and multi-task seamlessly.

  • Gender-sensitive and knowledgeable about humanitarian principles and a Human Rights-Based Approach.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

  • Strong organizational & interpersonal skills, Ability to effectively communicate with field teams, local authorities, and local communities.

  • Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as well as the ability to plan, take initiative and organize work independently.

  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn

  • Comfortable working in refugee camp settings and spending majority of time in the field

  • Comfortable working in a cross-cultural environment



Responsibilities & Context:

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular meetings or consultations (formally, informally) with the community people.

  • Act as a strong advocate and negotiator during sectoral meetings and community consultations, ensuring the voices and needs of the affected community are effectively represented and addressed.

  • Play a vital role in assessing community service gaps and looking for community-led solutions.

  • Promote community participation in the relevant platforms to ensure community feedback or opinion is accounted for.

  • Take the lead in coordinating drain-cleaning activities with WaSH, SuLMER, NRM, and other relevant actors to ensure effective gap identification, initiate cleaning processes, and develop cleaning strategies, maps, and modalities with community involvement. Responsibilities include updating maps, organizing coordination meetings, negotiating with stakeholders, advocating for support, and creating a comprehensive camp roadmap for drain cleaning.

  • Support the team in producing necessary IEC materials on contemporary issues.

  • Ensure the information boards are functional with life-saving contents.

  • Sensitize the community through the support of the volunteers on relevant life-saving issues such as fire prevention, cyclone preparedness, landslide risk, flood risks, drowning, road accidents, human trafficking, safety use of LPG/pressure cooker, cholera prevention, vaccination information, and so on.

  • Foster meaningful and accountable relationships with the community and its leaders, ensuring inclusivity beyond AGD (Age, Gender, and Diversity) considerations. Gather feedback to identify community needs and explore potential community-led solutions for optimal resource utilization.

  • Strengthen service delivery by linking humanitarian partners and volunteers through effective use of the Multi-Functional Team (MFT) mechanism.
