Job Context:
∎ Project Brief: Biodiversity for Resilient Livelihoods (B4RL) in the Modified Delta of Bangladesh Project funded by The Embassy of Sweden aims to increase social-ecological resilience through integrated climate and biodiversity actions in the selected areas of Satkhira, Khulna, Magura, and Narail districts. The project intends to restore, enhance, and protect ecosystems-biodiversity towards building "resilient social-ecological production landscapes." These interventions will address three areas of concern: climate change, disaster, and resilience by demonstrating ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA), ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction (Eco-DRR), and biodiversity-focused livelihoods as viable local adaptations to climate-induced threats. The project is envisaged to sensitize and mobilize a total of 30,000 poor and vulnerable households from local communities in project sites.
∎ Part I: Job Statement:
∎ The Communication Manager will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive communication and knowledge management strategy for the project. The Manager will work closely with the project team, partners, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and dissemination of project information and results.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Communication Manager will be responsible for the following:
∎ Develop a comprehensive communication and knowledge management strategy for the project in consultation with the project team, partners, and stakeholders.
∎ Develop and implement a communication plan, including the production of communication materials such as brochures, leaflets, videos, social media content, and other materials as required.
∎ Ensure that project activities are communicated to relevant stakeholders, including the media, government agencies, NGOs, and local communities.
∎ Manage project communications channels, including the website, social media platforms, and other communication channels.
∎ Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the media, NGOs, government agencies, and local communities.
∎ Ensure that project activities are communicated effectively to target audiences, including local communities, women, and other marginalized groups.
∎ Work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation team to ensure that project results are effectively communicated to stakeholders and donors.
∎ Ensure that project information is effectively shared with project partners and other stakeholders.
∎ Provide communication support to project activities, including events, workshops, and trainings.
∎ Attend training/orientation as and when asked by the project.
∎ Perform any other task as and when assigned by the respective management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 10 years of relevant work experience in communication, knowledge management, or public relations, preferably in the development sector. For really deserving candidates, the length of experience can be relaxed.
∎ Skills and Additional Job Requirements:
∎ Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing communication and knowledge management strategies.
∎ Strong writing and communication skills in English and Bangla.
∎ Having non-discriminatory and gender-sensitive perceptions along with safeguarding
∎ To protect children in connection
∎ Female applicants will be prioritized throughout the selection process.
∎ Knowledge of biodiversity conservation and sustainable livelihoods in Bangladesh is desirable.
∎ Knowledge of digital communication tools and platforms, including social media and website management.
∎ Experience in working with local communities, government agencies, and NGOs is desirable.
∎ Efficient computer literacy (especially MS Office applications and graphics design applications)
∎ Strong ability to work with the team
∎ Strong ability in problem-solving and decision-making.
∎ Skill in documentation, facilitation & reporting.
Salary:
∎ BDT 105,000/month (inclusive all)
