A barista is a trained coffee professional who prepares and serves espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, and other specialty beverages. They operate specialized machinery, maintain equipment, and provide excellent customer service by helping customers choose from the menu and taking payments. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Key Responsibilities
Drink Preparation: Grinding beans, calibrating espresso shots, and steaming milk for lattes, cappuccinos, and manual brews.
Customer Service: Greeting guests, making recommendations based on flavor preferences, taking orders, and processing payments.
Maintenance & Cleanliness: Sanitizing espresso machines, cleaning work areas, and washing cups and utensils.
Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels for coffee beans, syrups, and milk, and helping restock supplies.
