Job Context:
∎ Name of project: Locally Led Disaster Reduction in the Bangladesh Coastal Region
∎ Duty Station- Tala (Satkhira) with Frequent Visit to Shyamnagor (Satkhira), Koyra (Khulna), Taltoli (Barguna) and Kolapara (Patuakhali)
∎ The position Coalition Manager Sundarban Coalition" will provide intensive coalition building support to all the coalition members, in collaboration with and support from the MentoringA, Start Fund Bangladesh (SFB) and The Share Trust (TST). The key purpose of this role is to help coalition members to collectively co-create a coalition building roadmap, support organisational development of the coalition members, and coordinate the design and implementation of Joint Action Plan (JAP) so they collectively strengthen the disaster resilience of the communities they work with.
∎ Scope of the Work
∎ This project supports the development of more resilient, "Disaster Ready" communities over 3 years in The Sunderban surrounding coastal Bangladesh, through a coalition of 16 member organizations (4 Mentoring organizations (NGOs) and 12 local NGOs/CSOs/CBOs )
∎ This initiative also facilitates coalition building to demonstrate the strength of a locally rooted coalition as they lead programme design and delivery in a participatory way and become eligible to access funding from major donors.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Coalition Manager will be responsible for the following tasks:
∎ Coordination and Communication:
∎ Help facilitate and coordinate the smooth execution of coalition
∎ Ensure regular communication with collation members
∎ Facilitate the coordination and planning of the Governance Council meeting, taking of the minutes and sharing with all the members.
∎ Regular Feedback and reporting to the Governance Council, SMT and take guidance accordingly.
∎ Coordinate with and in between all 16 coalition members regularly to keep consistency among the coalition.
∎ Act as a primary contact point of Host organization and Secretariat for the coalition; and share Coalition updates to the member organization, SFB and TST and seek support from them as and when required.
∎ Coordination and Communication (External):
∎ Build rapport with NGOAB & other Government departments at District and Upazila level for smooth facilitation of the coalition
∎ Government Administration
∎ Coordination and Communication (Internal):
∎ Ensure communication with all Coalition members regularly to keep consistency among the coalition.
∎ Coalition Governance Council, Different working Committees of the coalition
∎ Senior Management Team consisting of 4 Mentoring organizations and Host organization as well, The Share Trust, Start Fund Bangladesh
∎ Secretariat Team
∎ Act as a Member Secretary of the Coalition
∎ Coordinate with Host organization to timely deliver instructions, formats, supports (Financial and Logistics) to Secretariat and other Mentoring organizations and CBOs as well.
∎ Coordinate with Host organization regarding project approval issues from NGOAB.
∎ Project Implementation:
∎ Coalition Capacity Building
∎ Prepare DAP and monthly work plan of the coalition.
∎ Facilitate Coalition Members in Designing and implementation of the Joint Action Plan (JAP)
∎ Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance throughout JAP implementation as and when required
∎ Arrange to provide support to CBOs for capacity building
∎ Provide guidelines, formats as per need (related to Coalition)
∎ Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance during JAP implementation as and when required
∎ Facilitate the day to day decision making process of the Coalition by Governance Council.
∎ Capacity building Meeting/Training/Workshop:
∎ Assist to conduct regular health check to understand Coalition health and ensure partnership principles.
∎ Facilitate in planning of various workshops and meeting to define the design, principles, protocols, and ways of working for the Coalition Governance.
∎ Coordinate with members for collaborative approach among members.
∎ Reporting, Documentation and sharing
∎ Assist in developing Coalition MEAL framework along with Coalition MEAL officer and provide regular feedback.
∎ Prepare reports/work plan well as required according to agreement and grant contract.
∎ Develop and gather evidence for coalition by identifying and documenting best practices.
∎ Assist CBOs to prepare report, case story
∎ Assist SFB for monitor coalition Health and suggest improvements
∎ Assist SFB for Developing Policy/guidelines for the coalition
∎ Budgetary Control:
∎ Communicate with Finance Department of Host organization to disburse fund following approved budget and requisition.
∎ Compile fund requisition from mentoring organization and placed it for approval.
∎ Budget tracking.
∎ Coordinate with Host organization for auditing of the project expenditures.
∎ General:
∎ Regular administrative support to coalition staff
∎ Participate and represent coalition in meetings and events as required for the development of coalition.
∎ Collect and circulate the FD 6 and project approval letter from NGOAB to Mentoring organizations and follow up for submission to Concerned DC and UNO.
∎ Any other task as assigned by Governance council or concerned authority
∎ Risk Management and Safeguarding
∎ Notify for any decision contrary to the interests or objectives of the Coalition, the Coalition Manager (CM) shall notify it to the members.
∎ Ensure that all concerned should maintain safeguarding, child protection, inclusion issues and other policies and procedures of the Coalition.
∎ Oversee that all the activities of the coalition is operated following agreed decision.
∎ Assist Coalition members for combating Child labor from any work under the coalition.
∎ Follow Code of Conduct of Uttaran (Host Organization).

Additional Requirements:
∎ We are seeking a dynamic humanitarian with good knowledge on localisation, DRR and resilience
∎ At least 4-5 years' experience in managerial positions.
∎ Track record of facilitating trainings and workshops involving multiple stakeholders
∎ Proven experience of working in collaboration and partnership to deliver diversify programs
∎ Understanding about local organizations and CBO strengths and weakness
∎ Proven experience on organizational capacity building, training and facilitation
∎ Strong understanding of emerging trends in the humanitarian sector esp. localization, community based DRR, climate resilience.
∎ Good understanding and experience of interagency collaboration and partnerships
∎ Ability to multi-task without less supervisory support and manage competing demands across time zones
∎ Experience in network and consortia is an asset
∎ Experience in humanitarian sector and knowledge about Bangladesh Humanitarian Architecture
