Job Context:
∎ Context: Uttaran is an NGO working Bangladesh since 1985 to uphold rights and entitlements and to improve the socio-economic condition of the poor and disadvantaged community people. Uttaran is a people cantered organization using a rights based approach to alleviate poverty, diversify livelihood opportunities and empower poor communities of Bangladesh
∎ Scope of the Work:This project supports the development of more resilient, "disaster ready" communities over 3 years in coastal Bangladesh, through a coalition of 16 local NGOS and CSOs. This initiative also facilitates coalition building to demonstrate the strength of a locally rooted coalition as they lead programme design and delivery and receive direct funding from major donors.
∎ The position Coalition Manager Sundarban Coalition" will provide intensive coalition building support to all the coalition members, in collaboration with and support from the lead agencies, Start Fund Bangladesh (SFB) and the Share Trust. The key purpose of this role is to help coalition members to collectively co-create a coalition building roadmap, support organisational development of the coalition members, and coordinate the formulation and implementation of Joint Action Plan (JAP) so they collectively strengthen the disaster resilience of the communities they work with.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Coalition Manager will be responsible for the following tasks:
∎ Coordination and Communication:
∎ Help facilitate and coordinate the formation of coalition
∎ Ensure regular communication with collation members
∎ Lead the coordination and planning of the Project Steering Committee meeting, taking of the minutes and sharing with all the members.
∎ Regular Feedback and reporting to the steering committee, SMT and take guidance accordingly.
∎ Coordinate with and in between all 16 coalition members regularly to keep consistency among the coalition.
∎ Act as a primary contact point of Uttaran for the coalition; and share Coalition updates to the Uttaran, lead agencies and SFB and TST and seek support from them as and when required.
∎ Coordinate and rapport building with NGO bureau and other government stakeholders to ensure smooth facilitation of the project.

∎ Project Implementation:
∎ Help and Facilitate in the finalization of selecting 12 local NGOs and CBOs.
∎ Assist Coalition Members in formulation of the Joint Action Plan and during the implementation of JAP.
∎ Design and facilitate Joint Action Planning Progress Review and Reflection meetings.
∎ Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance throughout JAP implementation as and when required
∎ Facilitate the day to day decision making process of the Coalition.
∎ Capacity Building and Partnership
∎ Assist in undertaking a capacity diagnostic with SFB
∎ Facilitate in planning of various workshops and meeting to define the design, principles, protocols, and ways of working for the Coalition Governance.
∎ Plan and coordinate various capacity development workshops and meeting with TST, SFB, lead agencies and all coalition members according to the capacity diagnostics
∎ Conduct regular health check-ups to understand Coalition health and ensure partnership principles.
∎ Reporting and Monitoring
∎ Assist in developing Coalition MEAL framework along with Coalition MEAL officer and provide regular feedback.
∎ Prepare reports / work plan well as required according to agreement and grant contract.
∎ Develop and gather evidence for coalition by identifying and documenting best practices.
∎ Prepare various documents based on the collected evidences
∎ Monitor coalition Health and suggest improvements
∎ General
∎ Regular administrative support to coalition staff for example (staff management, fund management etc.)
∎ Participate and represent coalition in meetings and events as required for the development of coalition.
∎ Advocacy, Lobby for Coalition Fund raising with different donors and government actors
∎ Any other task as assigned by Steering Committee and SMT.

Additional Requirements:
∎ We are seeking a dynamic humanitarian with good knowledge on localisation, DRR and resilience
∎ At least 4-5 years' experience in managerial positions.
∎ Track record of facilitating trainings and workshops involving multiple stakeholders
∎ Proven experience of working in collaboration and partnership to deliver diversify programs
∎ Understanding about local organizations and CBO strengths and weakness
∎ Proven experience on organizational capacity building, training and facilitation
∎ Strong understanding of emerging trends in the humanitarian sector esp. localization, community based DRR, climate resilience.
∎ Good understanding and experience of interagency collaboration and partnerships
∎ Ability to multi-task without less supervisory support and manage competing demands across time zones
∎ Experience in network and consortia is an asset
∎ Experience in humanitarian sector and knowledge about Bangladesh Humanitarian Architecture
