Experience:
Postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics (DCH, FCPS, MD, or equivalent). Candidates with FCPS Part I and relevant clinical experience may also be considered. Valid medical registration/licensure with the appropriate medical council.
Strong clinical knowledge and diagnostic skills in Pediatrics and Neonatology.Excellent communication skills.Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care. Sound clinical judgment and decision-making ability. Commitment to maintaining high standards of medical ethics and professionalism.Ability to work flexible part-time schedules, including weekends or emergency calls when required.
The Part-Time Child Specialist (Pediatrician) will provide specialized medical care to newborns, infants, children, and adolescents attending the BAPSA Maternity Clinic. The incumbent will ensure high-quality pediatric services, including neonatal care, diagnosis and treatment of childhood illnesses, growth and development monitoring, immunization support, emergency management, and parental counseling. The Pediatrician will work closely with obstetricians, medical officers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to promote integrated maternal and child healthcare services
Provide outpatient consultation and treatment for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents.
Examine and manage newborns immediately after birth and provide routine neonatal care.
Diagnose and treat common childhood illnesses and medical conditions.
Assess growth, nutrition, and developmental milestones of children.
Participate in newborn resuscitation and emergency neonatal care when required.
Monitor premature and low birth weight babies and provide follow-up care.
Collaborate with obstetricians and gynecologists to ensure safe maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Conduct newborn examinations before discharge.
Identify congenital abnormalities and high-risk neonatal conditions.
Counsel mothers on breastfeeding, newborn care, nutrition, immunization, and child development.
Support Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) and essential newborn care practices where applicable.
Work collaboratively with medical officers, nurses, midwives, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare staff.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior medical staff when required.
Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and referral planning.
