∎ About Terre des Hommes:
∎ Terre des Hommes Foundation (TdH) is the leading Swiss INGO focusing on child rights. It is active in more than 30 countries with development and emergency projects. TdH interventions are focused on the three programs: Health, Migration and Access to Justice particularly for vulnerable children. TdH Foundation has a transversal approach towards Child Protection programming and it cuts across all the thematic areas while also has been considered as one of the key value propositions in its business model. The Child Protection expertise within TdH Foundation aims to develop high quality, evidence-based knowledge and know-how adapted to fragile contexts, conflict zones, and development to improve the protection of children`s rights and their right to protection from all forms of violence (art 19, 34 CRC) in collaboration with and in support of the three core programs. The TdH Foundation global strategy 2021-2024 specifies that the rights-based participation, empowerment, and active involvement of children and communities in defining and implementing responses are essential to improve child protection.

∎ Context:
∎ TdH is working in Bangladesh since 1974, with operations in Kurigram district, Dhaka district and Cox`s Bazaar district. Currently, TdH is implementing programs on Health, Access to Justice (social cohesion and conflict resolution) and Migration, integrated by the transversal expertise WaSH and Child protection. TdH interventions in Bangladesh are both in development and emergency context.

∎ Following the massive displacement of more than 800,000 people into Bangladesh since the end of August 2017, TdH has put in place an important emergency response plan to provide relief to the Rohingya refugees, notably on Health, WaSH, Child Protection and Social cohesion. Alongside, TdH is implementing the CLARISSA project in Dhaka slums aiming to build a strong evidence base and generate innovative solutions to the worst forms of child labor (WFCL) and will explore how to take these solutions to scale. TdH in Bangladesh has started the process of integration of emergency and development approaches and aims to capitalize its institutional learning for further programme expansion and to create critical pathways for evidence-based advocacy.

∎ The Child protection Officer is responsible for providing structured and non-structured, static, and outreach, age, gender and needs-appropriate PSS activities to children, adolescents, and caregivers in the assigned Camps/ Host community area along with the Multi-purpose Community Centre (MPCC) in addition to the camp setting. Facilitate Problem Management Plus (PM+) session, Facilitate Pre-vocational, Life Skills and Transferable Skills and Photography Home and Skills Curriculum sessions; Facilitate Positive Parenting skills sessions and support the establishment of parent support groups; S/He will work under the supervision of Child Protection Team Leader and in close collaboration with CP Project Manager.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Coordinate Child protection activities including MPCCs and all its integrated programs implementation, community based child protection mechanisms, adolescent and youth clubs according to the agreed plan of action.
∎ Organize meetings with key stakeholders at local level, Implement and monitor project activities towards realization of project outputs in a timely and effective manner.
∎ Coordinate with all agencies on child protection while working with the Camp in Charge, UNHCR, other donor to ensure compliance to inter agency and Tdh standards for implementing child protection as well as peace building activities.
∎ Monitor progress of activity implementation to ensure highest quality standards and accountability based on LEAP framework, the IASC and Tdh standards.
∎ Contribute to Needs Assessment, including child-led safety mapping and community consultations.
∎ Conduct outreach to identify most vulnerable children (with a focus on inclusion of children with disabilities) and their caregivers and encourage their participation in PSS activities, Case management, Community engagement activities, Social cohesion and pre vocational activities.
∎ Document registration, consent, referrals and attendance in TdH's databases;
∎ Implement structured, non-structured, static, outreach PSS activities for well-being and building resiliency.
∎ Facilitate Problem Management Plus (PM+) session for the persons in need.
∎ Facilitate Pre-vocational, Life Skills and Transferable Skills and Photography Home and Skills Curriculum sessions.
∎ Facilitate Positive Parenting skills sessions and support the establishment of parent support groups.
∎ Prepare weekly/monthly work-plans with clear objectives setting short-term, mid-term and long-term targets priorities.
∎ Facilitate internal and external referrals of children in need of additional support, care or protection.
∎ Conduct participatory M&E activities to collect beneficiaries' feedback and opinions on the quality and satisfaction with the activities and ensure this feedback informs implementation.
∎ Provide effective supervision, mentorship, coaching and guidance to community volunteers, security guards.
∎ Provide support to Case Management Officers and Community-Based Protection Officers to implement project activities effectively, and achieve the project goal efficiently.
∎ Collect quantitative and qualitative PSS data, data entry and the safe and confidential documentation storage.
∎ Conduct community volunteers training and regular coaching on required topics, including Child Protection, MPCC management, communication with children, BIA, Case management, PFA, creative activities, positive discipline, life skills and use of local traditional materials.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 22 years
∎ Knowledge on the rohingya refugee crisis and response.
∎ Ability to speak Chittagong/Rohingya Bengali.
∎ English both written and verbal is an added advantage.
∎ Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation.
∎ Good conceptual and practical skill to design proposals and concept notes.
∎ Good knowledge and skills in budget forecasting and tracking.
∎ Good training or facilitation skills .
∎ Good communication and networking skills.



Salary: Tk. 55800 - 62496 (Monthly)
