Responsibilities & Context:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will provide strategic and operational leadership across all manufacturing and business functions of a leading trims and accessories manufacturing organization. The incumbent will ensure operational efficiency, product quality, cost competitiveness, and timely delivery to global garment buyers while driving process excellence, innovation, and team development.

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company vision, growth targets, and profitability objectives.
  • Partner with the CEO and senior management to drive business expansion, product diversification, and capacity enhancement.
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable operational plans with measurable KPIs.

Manufacturing & Production Management

  • Oversee end-to-end trims and accessories manufacturing operations, including labels, elastics, buttons, tags, poly items, packaging, etc.
  • Ensure optimized utilization of machinery, manpower, and materials to achieve efficiency and productivity targets.
  • Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve throughput.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure production meets buyer requirements, quality standards, and international compliance norms (ISO, OEKO-TEX, BSCI, etc.).
  • Work closely with QA/QC, R&D, and merchandising teams to maintain product consistency, innovation, and reliability.
  • Lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and continuous quality improvement programs.

Supply Chain & Procurement

  • Oversee procurement of raw materials, packaging, and consumables ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and logistics partners to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Manage inventory control, warehouse operations, and logistics for both inbound and outbound materials.

Financial & Cost Control

  • Develop and manage the operational budget; monitor costs and identify areas for savings.
  • Work with the finance team to analyze production costs, wastage, and profitability metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to cost targets without compromising quality or delivery timelines.

Technology & Process Automation

  • Drive ERP implementation and digital transformation to enhance operational visibility and data-driven decision-making.
  • Explore automation and smart manufacturing technologies to boost efficiency and competitiveness.

People Leadership

  • Lead and mentor departmental heads across production, planning, quality, supply chain, maintenance, and HR operations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, teamwork, and innovation.
  • Build succession plans and training programs to strengthen leadership pipelines.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and sales teams to ensure on-time order execution and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key buyers, auditors, and business partners to uphold brand reputation.

Compliance, Safety & Sustainability

  • Ensure full compliance with local laws, buyer codes of conduct, and environmental standards.
  • Oversee health, safety, and environmental initiatives within the factory.
  • Drive sustainability practices in material usage, energy consumption, and waste management.

Business Development Support

  • Support new product development (NPD) and capacity planning based on buyer demand and market trends.
  • Contribute to operational feasibility studies for new investment or expansion projects.
