Responsibilities & Context:
  • Lead and manage the hospital’s Dietetics and Nutrition department, supervising a team of dieticians and support staff.
  • Provide expert nutritional consultation and individualized diet plans to patients in both Inpatient (IPD) and Outpatient (OPD) departments.
  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments, taking into account medical history, laboratory results, and dietary habits.
  • Collaborate with F&B, physicians, nurses, and clinical teams to ensure integrated nutritional care as part of the patient’s overall treatment plan.
  • Oversee the formulation and implementation of therapeutic diets for hospitalized patients based on their medical conditions.
  • Monitor the quality, nutritional value, and hygiene standards of all meals provided to patients, ensuring alignment with prescribed dietary plans.
  • Conduct regular ward rounds to review the nutritional status and progress of inpatients, making necessary adjustments to diet plans.
  • Guide and mentor junior dieticians, interns, and kitchen staff in maintaining service quality and professional standards.
  • Organize patient education sessions, awareness programs, and diet workshops for patients, families, and hospital staff.
  • Implement departmental policies, maintain accurate documentation, and generate reports on patient nutrition outcomes and departmental performance.
  • Ensure the department complies with hospital protocols, safety guidelines, and national dietary regulations.
  • Stay updated with the latest research in clinical nutrition and continuously upgrade practices to ensure evidence-based patient care.
