Job Context:
∎ AKH Knitting & Dyeing Ltd. (A 100% Export Oriented Knit Composite Factory)
∎ The main job responsibility is to ensure fire safety in the workplace as per
∎ RSC/Nirapon (Accord/Alliance) Standard & Guideline. Ensure that the Fire Detection & Protection System (Fire Control Room, Fire Pump, Smoke/Heat Detectors, Fire Hydrant System, Fire Sprinkler System, Fire Doors and all other Fire Fighting Apparatus/Equipment) are fully functional and are as per the RSC/Nirapon standard. The job responsibilities are mentioned below but not limited to:
∎ Job Location: Work in Factory at Rajphulbaria, Savar, Dhaka
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure that the Fire Alarm/Detection & Protection System of the factory is fully functional and the systems (Hydrant system, Detection system, Sprinkler system, Fire Pumps, Fire
∎ Control Room, etc) are as per the RSC/Nirapon standard.
∎ Continuously monitor the fire and safety system including protection and detection system of the factory.
∎ Ensure that the Fire extinguishers are in place as per requirement and in good working condition.
∎ Ensure that the Fire Control Room and the Fire Pump Room is in good order and fully functional at all times.
∎ Ensure fire-related books, registers, logs, etc. are correctly maintained on a scheduled basis.
∎ Report to management on fire safety issues from time to time.
∎ Regular/weekly fire training with the fire safety team & general workers.
∎ Conduct regular fire drills and emergency evacuation drills to aware employees of any emergency incident.
∎ Monitor/Supervise that the electrical/power cables/loose wires are properly placed and take remedial measures immediately in coordination with the maintenance department.
∎ Fire risk assessment of the factory and identify fire hazard areas and take proper preventive measures on a priority basis.
∎ Maintain & ensure safety in all production areas and ensure safe evacuation for all employees in case of any emergency.
∎ Monitoring Fire Fighter & Rescue Teams and conducting external & internal fire-related training.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 32 to 40 years
∎ A minimum of 10 years relevant work experience in a reputed garments/renowned manufacturing industry of which 2-3 years as Manager/Asst. Manager worked in Fire Safety System (Fire Detection & Protection System).
∎ Must have adequate knowledge on Fire Safety Standards of Accord, Alliance, BNBC, NFPA & Fire Service Rules.
∎ Training and certificates in Fire protecOon & detection system.
∎ Fire Safety Audit, Fire Safety Training and "Fire Safety Manager" course from FSCD will have added advantage.
∎ Excellent organizational skills to perform multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines.
∎ Excellent report writing and record keeping ability.
∎ Able to face the RSC/Nirapon audits.
∎ Must have computer literacy.
