Job Context:
∎ Maintaining Access to Safe Water and Sanitation for Rohingyas in Bangladesh Project.
∎ NGO Forum for Public Health is seeking an experienced and motivated person to fill the position of Assistant Hygiene Officer to implement the hygiene promotion activities aspects of NGO Forum-UNHCR WASH Project in Cox`s Bazar Refugee Camp. NGO Forum views community mobilization in WASH as a planned and dynamic process to connect communities to increase the community`s control over the impact of the response. We`re looking for an experienced and driven hygiene expert& motivated person with plenty of enthusiasm to join our talented Hygiene promotion team.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead good hygiene practices and effective community engagement, through improving knowledge and changing the attitudes and behavior of the targeted communities.
∎ Encourage engagement of the community towards hygiene programme through outreach work.
∎ Work with Hygiene field team on their specific roles with the community.
∎ Develop and support of "Hygiene promoter" to build a strong relationship with community engagement activities.
∎ Meet regularly with the hygiene team and relevant hygiene field staff to review and progress of the activities and discuss/resolve any issues/challenges.
∎ Keep records of all community engagement related programmes and activities.
∎ Develop monthly, quarterly and annual work plans and budgets for Community Engagement.
∎ Contribute to daily report writing in relation to the community engagement activities.
∎ Undertake innovative idea or new community engagement approaches to be assigned time-to-time by the Project office.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 28 to 50 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Experience in Community Engagement approach
∎ Experience in child-focused Hygiene Promotion activities
∎ Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences and gender issues
∎ Good communication skills both in English and Bangla
∎ Experience in community mobilization and participation
∎ Hard working and positive attitude
∎ Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
∎ Attitude to work in flexible hours when required.
∎ Willingness to work in Refugee Camps and Willingness to work under pressure during emergency response
∎ Practical work experience in WASH sectors with WASH focusing with humanitarian and RANA's Approaches
∎ Computer skills
∎
Salary: Tk. 67360 (Monthly)
