Educational Requirements:
∎ The candidates must have Diploma / BSc in Agriculture major in Agronomy will be given preference with minimum CGPA 2.50 or 2nd division/ class or equivalent result in all academic examinations
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 2 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Monitor the contract farmers’ selection with suitable land for seed production and observe the land and seed bed preparation
∎ Observe and maintain the A-line and R-line (number of hill/unit area, row ratio, distance, tiller number/hill) correctly during seedling plantation in case of hybrid rice seed production
∎ Organise block and plot during and after seed sowing
∎ Perform the off-types and weeding, rouging non-crossed and undesirable fruits
∎ Ensure close supervision of disease management; checking the scheduled spray of pesticides, water management and during breeding period for crossing, bagging, and pollination
∎ Engage in close and careful supervision during gathering of seeds after harvesting from field; mature fruit or grain collection, seed sample collection, seed admixture checking for varietal purity, sorting of different colour, shape and size of fruits, germination rate, moisture content, curing, sorting and grading
∎ Check the quality of potato seed, preserve it in cold storage, along with the checking of the condition of cold storage; temperature, humidity, stacking of sack and removing
∎ Participate in GOT of different seeds like rice, vegetable, potato, maize which includes land selection and preparation, material purchase, plantation, irrigation, fertilization, crop protection, data collection, harvesting, product sales, etc.
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
∎ Perform any other duties as and when assigned by the respective authority
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 20 to 35 years
∎ Must have experience in relevant field
∎ Age, education and experience will be relaxed for the potential candidates
∎ Have sound knowledge in rice, vegetable, maize and potato seed production, sowing period, land and seed bed preparation, fertilizer and pesticides use, water management, weed management, pests and disease management and rouging
∎ Able to identify good quality seed, weed and pests, disease, in case of hybrid seed production characters of male and female parents
∎ Able to maintain ethical and moral standards, adaptive to change management, problem solving, risk taking, visionary, learning enthusiastic, analyse data, time management
∎ Should have skill on relationship building, prioritizing. planning
∎ Have knowledge of MS word, excel and internet browsing
∎ Have to work under pressure
