∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
∎ At least 02 years experience in fisheries development related activities in national or international organization with practical experience. Experience in value chain activities, marketing, branding, fish processing, intensive and semi-intensive fisheries management will get advantages
∎ Good Computer skills in MS office applications.
∎ Good command in communication and facilitation skills in English and Bangla.
∎ Ability to ride motor cycle with a valid driving license.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Selection of fish producers, fisheries entrepreneurs, selection of master trainers, selection of lead fish farmers, selection of local service providers and formation of production teams and close coordination with various stakeholders. Should be responsible for development of relevant training modules, conduction of trainings for safe fish production, establishment of demonstrations for modern fish farming, different piloting initiatives, trials, case studies and collecting relevant data, information relevant to project activities.
∎ To facilitate the fish producers, fish entrepreneurs in the field for access to relevant services, establishment of local service centers in cooperation with private sectors, effective bridging the fish producers with relevant materials suppliers and fish products buyers.
∎ To organize training for the lead fish farmers through the Master Trainers concerning GLOBAL GAP and HACCP.
∎ To monitor the fish farms in line with the indicators of GLOBAL GAP and giving necessary support and advices.
∎ To facilitate and support the fish producers and fish products processors for getting them ready in line with monitoring under the indicators of GLOBAL GAP and HACCP.
∎ Enhancement of capacity building of fish farmer in quality fish production, support for establishment of high value native fish hatcheries, facilitate the fisherman to produce quality fish.
∎ Regular field visit, monitoring of planned activities in the field and advices to the program participants, stakeholders to reach the objectives set in the project.
∎ Any other responsibilities as suggested by Value Chain Facilitator (VCF) in line with the project planning and implementation.
∎ SKS Foundation will implement a fish value chain development sub-project titled "Production of Safe Fish, Fish Products and Marketing" under 'Rural Microenterprise Transformation Project (RMTP)' of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and IFAD for a period of 23-months in Gaibandha Sadar, Saghata, Fulchari and SundarganjUpazilas of Gaibandha district. The project will work to increase the income of small and marginal fish producers, fish entrepreneurs, actors and service providers of backward and forward markets, ensure food security and improve family nutrition. Value chain development of fish and fish products will be ensured at various levels through value addition, expansion of financial services for enterprise development and strengthening of institutional structure. The members will work on increasing the range of fish enterprises and expanding the enterprises through skill development in modern production methods and strong market linkages. With this objective, SKS Foundation is going to recruit for the position of "Assistant Value Chain Facilitator" for project implementation in the field. This position will be primarily for Six Months.
