Responsibilities & Context:

Drive local, national, and international market access for products made by Rohingya artisans, aiming to ensure steady sales and income for the factory. The role supports the factory's journey toward self-reliance by developing sales channels, reducing delivery costs, and promoting community-based consumption.

  • Develop and implement a market linkage strategy aligned with the factory’s sustainability goals.

  • Identify pricing strategies considering the higher product transportation cost from Bhasan Char.

  • Promote and sell factory products within the Rohingya community at Bhasan Char through awareness campaigns and community engagement.

  • Coordinate with humanitarian actors/agencies working in the area to facilitate bulk purchases.

  • Explore retail, wholesale, online, and institutional buyers within Bangladesh.

  • Identify export opportunities and partnerships with international fair-trade organizations or ethical fashion retailers.

  • Attend relevant fairs, exhibitions, and networking events (virtually/in-person) to showcase products.

  • Support in developing brand identity and marketing materials (catalogs, social media content, etc.).

  • Collaborate with the production team to align product development with market demand and trends.

  • Maintain sales records and provide regular updates on sales performance and inventory movement.

  • Analyze sales data to suggest improvements in product offerings or pricing.

  • Provide input to the training team on tailoring products to suit market preferences.

  • Coordinate with the production unit to ensure timely order fulfillment and quality standards.

  • Facilitate training for selected Rohingya workers on basic market and sales concepts.

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation.

  • Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
