Experience:
• Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in technical trades, textile design, social science, vocational training, handicrafts, or a related field.
Required Skills & Competencies:
• Strong practical skills in sewing/crafting/handicrafts (preferred).
• Ability to provide technical coaching to women and youth.
• Good communication and community mobilization skills.
• Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safe work practices.
• Ability to prepare field reports, track data, and maintain records.
• Familiarity with camp context and humanitarian operations.
• Ability to ride a motorcycle with valid license (if applicable to ESDO requirement).
• Knowledge of Rohingya/Chittagonian language is an added advantage.
Work Environment:
• Extensive field visits required in Camps 5, 8W, 11 and surrounding host communities.
• Must be willing to spend extended time in production centres and training venues.
• Fast-paced humanitarian field environment with multi-stakeholder coordination.

Position Summary:
The Assistant Technical Officer (Field) will provide direct field-level technical support for the production of eco-friendly toys and handicrafts under the ILO-supported project. The position is responsible for assisting training activities, supporting artisans in skill development, ensuring quality production, and maintaining smooth operation of the co-working production centres in both Rohingya camps and host communities. The role will support the project’s goal of improving livelihood opportunities, social cohesion, and the economic resilience of vulnerable women and youth.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Training & Capacity Development
• Assist master trainers and senior trainers in conducting skills training for artisans (400 beneficiaries).
• Provide hands-on coaching to artisans during and after training sessions.
• Support Training Needs Assessments (TNA) and participant selection.
• Ensure all training batches comply with OSH, PSEA, and Decent Work guidelines.
B. Production Centre Operations
• Support establishment and daily operations of four production centres (two in camps, two in host communities).
• Maintain attendance, production logs, equipment usage sheets, and material records.
• Ensure proper functioning and routine maintenance of sewing machines and craft tools.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and hygiene of the production centres.
C. Quality Control Assistance
• Support Light of Hope QC Officers during product inspection and evaluation.
• Check artisans’ work daily to ensure uniformity, finishing, and compliance with brand standards.
• Identify quality gaps and provide corrective guidance to artisans.
D. Field Monitoring & Reporting
• Track daily output, artisan attendance, raw material distribution, and delivery notes.
• Support MEAL activities including baseline, midline, and end-line data collection.
• Document field observations, success stories, and community feedback.
• Prepare daily/weekly reports and submit to Technical Officer.
E. Community & Stakeholder Coordination
• Maintain coordination with CiC offices, camp focal persons, community leaders, and local authorities.
• Support organization of meetings, trainings, events, and buyer visits.
• Assist in field-level communication with market actors and private sector partners.
F. Market Linkage Support
• Assist in field marketing activities, demonstrations, and exposure visits.
• Support brand promotion events in camps and host community areas.
