Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure equality, diversity, inclusion, and protection (40%)
∎ Mainly responsible for identifying training needs, building capacities of the rights holders as well as project staff, and strengthening the overall gender, disability inclusion, and child protection component in the implemented projects of EEGP
∎ Provide technical support in coordination with IRB Inclusion focal point/safeguarding officer and follow-up with the project's personnel and overall team to mainstream gender, disability, inclusion, and protection issues during proposals development, design/redesigning project's specific phase including advice on resources, data collection and analysis, M&E and appropriate tools and information.
∎ Ensure gender analysis and SADDD data are included in all donor reports or any other requirements from donor
∎ Support and ensure in baseline survey with gender and inclusion analysis.
∎ Promote gender, and disability inclusion approach in the projects' context and improve the accessibility of the persons with disabilities to the several activities and ensure project “Do no harm” in their communities.
∎ Ensure that protection, safeguarding, and inclusion mechanism are in place and the community receives the feedback in due time as per the IRB policy.
∎ Follow up and provide technical guidance during the implementation phase and document
∎ Collaborate with P&I focal of IRB for assessing Gender, Protection, and Inclusion analysis under the project.
∎ Conduct and facilitate data collection tools to explore any P&I issues that rightsholders are facing.
∎ Ensure that protection concerns are included during all stages of planning, implementation, and monitoring of activities.
∎ Ensure accessibility of disabled persons in project/Govt offices/markets and other common places by maintaining collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
∎ Support the team in designing and collecting age, gender and disability disaggregated data and conducting Capacity Gap Analysis, including focus group discussions inclusive of persons with disabilities.
∎ Generate quality evidence on the needs and capacities of people with disabilities, including knowledge of assistive products, for using them in research and program work.
∎ Support developing IEC material if required, other office-wise knowledge, and case stories of good practice on protection, and disability inclusion.
∎ Support building an inclusive environment and adhere to the organization's protection policy and standards to be committed to the organization’s vision statement and core values
∎ Undertake any other relevant duties or assignments as directed by the line manager.
∎ Capacity-building initiatives for project participants, key stakeholders, and project staff at the program level (15%)
∎ Prepare capacity building plan and facilitate training for program staff.
∎ Provide capacity building to the staff and project participants, including awareness about GBV, Child Protection, and Disability inclusion.
∎ Support in planning, monitoring, designing, and dissemination of the protection, and disability inclusion in the project and organization overall.
∎ Interact, build and nurture effective working relationships to foster coordination, collaboration, and partnership for increasing networking and advocacy with working groups, GO, NGOs, UPs, donors, and other institutions/ strategic stakeholders working on gender & disability inclusion.
∎ Support the development of a case management approach, that includes documenting work/ activities in a care plan and setting effective referral mechanisms or pathways to other service providers
∎ Organize basic skill development training for project participants on different topics i.e. Gender, Early Child Development interventions, Child Protection, Adolescent (skill development, disability & inclusion), etc.
∎ Orient key stakeholders on Complaints & Feedback Mechanism (CFM), Child Protection, Safeguarding & Gender Sensitivity issues concerning project activities.
∎ Promote and implement effective measures to ensure that vulnerable groups and communities are better protected against violence, exploitation, and abuse
∎ Organize training and workshop in different sectors for internal and external stakeholders.
∎ Project implementation, Monitoring, and Reporting (20%)
∎ Assist project team in preparing project documents and interim and final narrative reports as per proposal and project needs.
∎ Participate in relevant needs assessment studies and ensure SADDD is appropriately done.
∎ Drafts relevant sections of reports required for donors, management, and annual reports
∎ In collaboration with senior managers ensure smooth management and integration with Child Protection, Gender and disability inclusion.
∎ Assist in new project design, and provide support for developing concept notes and proposals (based on program evidence) to grow Protection and inclusion.
∎ Prepare weekly / monthly individual work plans, which after approval by the supervisor will serve as a guideline for implementation.
∎ Continuously monitor implementation of protection activities and report on progress, and challenges, and recommend solutions.
∎ Participate in all relevant meetings, workshops, seminars, and training as directed by the line manager (PM) and provide feedback
∎ Ensures comprehensive and effective communication, coordination, and advocacy with different stakeholders (20%)
∎ Dedicatedly develop and maintain effective working relationships with other key partners, government actors, international and local NGOs, and other relevant actors,
∎ Lead the process to generate evidence and document best practices, case studies relating to P&I,
∎ Represent IRB for the legitimate needs and rights of the rights holders through liaison with the local administrator, humanitarian service providers, and other actors.
∎ Proactively exchange learning and synergy with all involved stakeholders.
∎ Facilitate lesson learned workshop on the aspect of P&I for learning sharing for further organizational development.
∎ Other Requirements (5%)
∎ Participate & involve with seasonal programs (Ramadan, Qurbani, Winterization, etc.) activities.
∎ Ensure that local purchases and expenditures are done as per Islamic Relief Bangladesh policy.
∎ Maintain the stock book, inventory, and other essential register properly and timely in an effective manner.
∎ Support in the procurement of materials like requisition, follow-up, etc.
∎ Take initiatives to ensure the security of project staff and participants during the intervention.
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, exploitation, Fraud, Bribery & Money Laundering to achieve the program’s goals of safeguarding implementation and as well as Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on the safeguarding of harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation, Fraud, Bribery & Money Laundering for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Being a member of Islamic Relief as a child-friendly organization, it is the core responsibility and obligation of each staff member to understand and obey IR Child Protection & PSEA Policy and respond accordingly as and when required.
∎ Willing and able to travel frequently for extended periods and to remote areas of the projects.
