Additional Requirements:

Knowledge:

Technical knowledge about weaving & endi fabrics production, different parts of hand loom and it’s function, endi lachi quality & grade, quality measures of endi fabrics.

Skills:

Degumming, warping/ jaron, shana-boa, noli processing and hand loom operational skill.

Competencies:

Ability to motivate Trainees for excellent skill training, fabrics production and quality control.



Responsibilities & Context:

To deliver hands-on training and continuous guidance to Rohingya women in the endi fabrics weaving and related activities like degumming, warping, Joron, Picking/shana-boa, Noli/Pirn winding, supporting them in developing and strengthening their skills. This role aims to empower the participants to engage in regular, centre-based income-generating activities through consistent and quality fabric production.

  • Demonstrate and facilitate silk yarn degumming, drying and preservation techniques

  • Discussion and demonstration of different related activities (Jaron, shana-boa, noli processing)

  • Discussion and demonstration of different parts of hand loom, their function and operation techniques

  • Hands on training on hand loom operation & endi fabrics production

  • Fabrics quality measures and quality control process

  • Tips (technical points) for skill improvement and production increase

  • Special care for weak participants/ weavers

  • Conduct monthly refreshers for weaving skill and quality improvement

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
