Additional Requirements:

Knowledge:

Technical knowledge about Charka operation, different parts of charka machine and it’s function, waste cocoon quality & grade, silk spinning & endi lachi/ yarn production process, quality measures of endi lachi/ yarn.

Skills:

Charka spinning operational skill.

Competencies:

Ability to motivate Trainees for excellent skill training, Lachi Production and quality control.



Responsibilities & Context:

To provide hands-on training and ongoing guidance to Rohingya women in endi lachi/yarn production, enabling them to build and enhance their skills. The role aims to empower participants to engage in regular, home-based income-generating activities through consistent production of endi lachi/yarn.

  • Demonstrate and facilitate cocoon boiling, washing, drying and preservation techniques

  • Discussion and demonstration of charka machine, different parts and it’s function

  • Hands on training of charka spinning and endi yarn production

  • Hands on training of endi yarn harvesting/ lachi making, grading and quality control

  • Tips (technical points) for skill improvement and production increase

  • Special care for weak participants

  • Conduct monthly refreshers for spinning skill and quality improvement

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
