Job Context:
∎ Islamic Relief provides lifesaving humanitarian assistance to the FDMNs as they lack access to the basic needs of life. Since the beginning of the influx, Islamic Relief has been working with the Bangladesh Government and other implementing partners to support FDMNs living in Cox`s Bazar. We ensure food and non-food items for FDMNs living in Bhashanchar. We improve the safety and well-being of FDMNs by,
∎ Providing monthly food ration
∎ Providing water and sanitation
∎ Constructing wash blocks
∎ Installing tube-wells
∎ Distributing Ramadan food packs, Eid gifts and Qurbani meat
∎ Providing non-food items like LPG, hygiene kits and winter clothes to the families in Cox`s Bazar and Bhashan Char.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure the quality of construction / Installation/ repair work (30%)
∎ Make a plan for construction activities as per project needs.
∎ Prepare design & BOQ of WASH Facilities & WASH activity.
∎ Supervise construction work of FSTP, Water Network, and Sanitation construction work.
∎ Responsible for field construction activities such as WaSH infrastructures (Semi-Deep Tube wells, Sanitary Latrines, Hygiene Promotion etc.)
∎ Ensure project activity according to drawing & design.
∎ Effectively manage Fecal sludge and solid waste in the camp.
∎ To implement project activity according to technical specifications.
∎ Identify feasible sites for WASH facilities.
∎ Provide technical support to manage plastic waste recycling plants and solid waste management.
∎ Facilitate caretaker training, user group training, majhi & CBC training.
∎ Conduct water quality tests of selected parameters using field kits.
∎ Prepare bills & check the bill vouchers.
∎ Conduct technical and environmental surveys (pre-survey, post-survey etc.) as per project requirements.
∎ Prepare effective work plan for subordinates, volunteers and casual labour.
∎ Prepare different IEC materials related to construction work.
∎ Project intervention monitoring (20%)
∎ Prepare individual work plans according to project activity.
∎ Prepare & follow the hardware monitoring checklist.
∎ Ensure quality construction according to drawing, design and guidelines
∎ Follow the individual work plan for quality control of project activities.
∎ Supervise construction activities at the beneficiary level.
∎ Prepare a business plan at the community level and execute it as per the proposal and organizational guidelines.
∎ Check work orders and specifications to ensure good quality materials reception,
∎ Conduct water quality tests periodically in the Bhasan char responsible area.
∎ Follow WASH sector guidelines and WHO standards to serve water to community people.
∎ Supervise and monitor each stage of the activities.
∎ Ensure that standards and instructions are given by the line manager and Islamic Relief Bangladesh procedures.
∎ Check FSM and solid waste management standards for a healthy environment.
∎ Monitor the working progress & ensure the quality of project activities & inform the Project Coordinator.

∎ Appropriate beneficiary and site selection according to the IR Principle and guideline (20%)
∎ Participate in various demographical assessments like facilities, households, shelters, and WASH surveys.
∎ Conduct community-based meetings to identify sustainable, durable, and locally acceptable infrastructure in Bhasan Char.
∎ Assist in identifying suitable sites for WASH activity implementation
∎ Supervision of WASH volunteers and worker management
∎ Identifying the most affected and vulnerable rightsholders.
∎ Prepare environmental and social screening checklist for hardware installation.
∎ Provide effective work plans to FFs for managing construction work.
∎ To verify/cross-check the collected list of vulnerable rightsholders for the distribution of Hygiene kits
∎ To conduct various meetings with CBC, Majhi, caretaker & user group.
∎ Form community lead volunteer group, HP group and CDG
∎ Assist FF in conducting a door-to-door survey to finalize beneficiaries.
∎ Supervise the beneficiary's identification as per fixed selection criteria and by the methodology fixed by IR.
∎ Finalize the beneficiary by ensuring endorsement and validation from relevant authorities.

∎ Networking and coordination with different stakeholders (15%)
∎ Assist in organizing inception meetings at different levels.
∎ To Participate in various coordination meetings such as WASH & WASH sector meetings, CiC coordination meetings
∎ Organize various working relationship-building orientations, and training.
∎ Linkages with government officials, DPHE, CiCs, CMOs, UN agencies and NGOs.
∎ Formulation of the project implementation committee.
∎ Ensure the NOC after the selection of the scheme with relevant stakeholders.
∎ Involve project implementation teams in the implementation of the project
∎ Communication and collaboration with SMSD, CMO, focal agencies
∎ Coordination & networking with key stakeholders.
∎ Participate in various personal development training, orientation, and workshops.

∎ Project reporting and documentation (10%)
∎ Provide monthly activity reports to SMSD, CMO, sector and other agencies.
∎ Collect completion reports according to requirements.
∎ Provide the necessary documents to WASH focal points, agencies etc.
∎ Prepare and submit a plan of the weekly activities to the line manager.
∎ Report back any problems and constraints encountered during the activities and suggest operational solutions.
∎ Support for the Procurement of materials like requisition, quotation collection etc.

∎ Other Requirements (5%)
∎ According to the proposal, propose some methodology and provide it with the experience and lessons learnt from the other organizations.
∎ Support the community mobilization team.
∎ Ensure visibility of the project.
∎ Ensure the complaint response and feedback mechanism at the field level.
∎ Participate & involved with seasonal programs (Ramadan, Qurbani, Winterization etc.) activities.
∎ Support in the procurement of materials like requisition, follow-up etc.
∎ Facilitate donor/external visits and ensure that recommendations of visitors are addressed.
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, exploitation, Fraud, Bribery or money Laundering to achieve the program's goals of safeguarding implementation and as well as Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on the safeguarding of harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation, Fraud, Bribery & Money Laundering for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Being a member of Islamic Relief as a child-friendly organization, it is the core responsibility and obligation of each staff member to understand and obey the IR Child Protection & PSEA Policy and respond accordingly as and when required.
∎ Willing and able to travel frequently for extended periods and to remote areas of the projects.
∎ Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Experience in working on WASH project activities
∎ Experience in working in solid waste management, faecal sludges management, plastic waste management, Rainwater harvesting system distribution follow-up, making distribution plans, stock management, Vendor management, Technical knowledge of Auto Cad software and KoBo ToolBox.
