Job Context:

∎ Support Government and other agencies to deliver safe water, improve hygiene and sanitation
∎ Support in building resilient houses
∎ Construct roads during emergency
∎ Assist vulnerable communities through cash support
∎ Strengthen communities more resilient.
∎ Arrange training to create awareness and preparedness against disaster
∎ Emphasise socially excluded and marginalized people, women and the elderly.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Implementation of the Project in target unions and Upazilas (30%).
∎ Conduct FGD with different stockholders and communities.
∎ Conduct the door-to-door survey to finalize beneficiaries.
∎ Supervise the beneficiary's identification as per fixed selection criteria and by the methodology fixed by IR.
∎ Finalize the beneficiary by ensuring endorsement and validation from relevant authorities.
∎ Prepare a beneficiary list, Muster roll etc.
∎ Supervise construction activities at the beneficiary level.
∎ Prepare a business plan at the community level and execute it as per the proposal and organizational guidelines.
∎ Supervise and monitor each stage of the activities. Ensure that standards and instructions are given by the line manager, as well as Islamic Relief Bangladesh procedures.
∎ Monitor the working progress & ensure the quality of project activities & inform the line manager.
∎ Ensure the construction / Installation work relevant to emergency humanitarian support (30%).
∎ Make plans for construction activities as per project needs.
∎ Prepare design & BOQ of interventions such as earthwork, tube wells and latrines and other WASH Facilities.
∎ Responsible for the construction activities such as WaSH infrastructures (Semi-Deep Tube wells, Sanitary Latrines, Hygiene Promotion etc.).
∎ Identify feasible sites for WASH facilities.
∎ Facilitate caretaker training.
∎ Conduct water quality tests of selected parameters using field kits.
∎ Prepare bills & check the bills vouchers.
∎ Conduct Technical and environmental surveys (pre-survey, post-survey etc) as per project requirements.
∎ Prepare different IEC materials related to construction work.
∎ Ensure timely and quality implementation of the project activities.
∎ Ensure the NOC after the selection of the scheme with relevant stakeholders.
∎ Effective and efficient use of project assets and resources (15%).
∎ Support for the Procurement of materials like requisition, quotation collection etc.
∎ Supervise and monitor construction or technical activities.
∎ Do effective and appropriate networking and coordination with different stakeholders (10%).
∎ Formulation of the project implementation committee.
∎ Involve Union Parishad, Upazila Parishad, Union Disaster Management Committee & other stakeholders in the implementation of the project.
∎ Project planning, reporting and documentation (5%).
∎ Prepare and submit the plan with Work updates and related photos and report of activities to the line manager weekly, monthly and as per project needs, Quality and control cheek
∎ Maintain project documents and preserve such as muster roll, attendance sheet, photographs, reports and media coverages
∎ Report back any problems and constraints encountered during the activities and suggest operational solutions.
∎ Others (10%).
∎ Propose some methodology, according to the proposal, and provide it with the experience and lessons learnt from the other organizations.
∎ Ensure visibility of the project.
∎ Participate & involve with seasonal programs (Ramadan, Qurbani, Winterization etc.) activities.
∎ Support in the procurement of materials like requisition, follow-up etc.
∎ Facilitate donor/external visits and ensure that recommendations of visitors are addressed.
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, exploitation, Fraud, Bribery & Money Laundering to achieve the program's goals of safeguarding implementation and as well as Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on the safeguarding of harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation, Fraud, Bribery & Money Laundering for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Ensure proper implementation and compliance of organization systems and policies such as the complaint response and feedback mechanism, safety and security policy, child rights and PSEA at the field level.
∎ Being a member of Islamic Relief as a child-friendly organization, it is the core responsibility and obligation of each staff member to understand and obey the IR Child Protection & PSEA Policy and respond accordingly as and when required.
∎ Willing and able to travel frequently for extended periods and to remote areas of the projects.
∎ Perform any other duties assigned by Supervisor.

∎ Humanitarian and Resilience field,
∎ WASH, Shelter, and Recovery field will be considered an added advantage
