Job Context:
∎ Islamic Relief provides lifesaving humanitarian assistance to the FDMNs as they lack access to the basic needs of life. Since the beginning of the influx, Islamic Relief has been working with Bangladesh Government and other implementing partners to support FDMNs living in Cox’s Bazar. We ensure food and non- food items for FDMNs living in Bhashanchar. We improve the safety and well- being of FDMNs by
∎ Providing monthly food ration
∎ Providing water and sanitation
∎ Constructing wash blocks
∎ Installing tube-wells
∎ Distributing Ramadan food packs, Eid gifts, and Qurbani meat
∎ Providing non-food items like LPG, hygiene kits, and winter clothes to the families both in Cox’s Bazar and Bhashan Char.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide direct individual mental health and psychosocial support to children living in Bhasanchar (50%)
∎ Activities:
∎ Assist with the identification of children in need of mental and psychological support and protection and those experiencing emotional distress and isolation
∎ Conduct basic mental health assessments using the various assessment tools and establish a baseline for care
∎ Conduct individual counseling sessions for the children and field staff.
∎ Collaboratively develop an individualized care plan for children of concern to support the development/maintenance of healthy coping mechanisms and achievement of psychosocial goals
∎ Conduct regular follow-up sessions to provide ongoing support according to the established care plan and adjust to meet the child's developing needs
∎ Facilitate timely, appropriate, and confidential referrals to specialized mental health care or other needed services when needed using the established referral pathways in their area of work
∎ Adapt existing interventions and develop innovative approaches to support children in need
∎ Provide group mental health and psychosocial support to children and their families
∎ Facilitate group sessions focusing on socio-emotional processing, skill-building, and social connectedness at the static point and home-based level
∎ Facilitate theme-based (anger and stress management and substance abuse) focus group discussions to address stigma, community needs, and existing community responses to increase awareness and resilience
∎ Contribute to ensuring a safe and stimulating environment for Children to play and learn
∎ Implementation of the project in target location/s (20%)
∎ Activities:
∎ Implementation of the assigned project activities related to child development and protection
∎ Prepare attendance sheet, muster roll, and any other documents for audit compliance.
∎ Prepare field movement and community engagement plan, approve it with supervisor and ensure strict alignment with the plan.
∎ Support / Participate in different need assessments, impact evaluation, post-distribution monitoring (PDM), etc.
∎ Prepare the bill & check the bill vouchers.
∎ Support supervisor to prepare monthly, quarterly, interim and final narrative reports as per proposal and project need.
∎ Prepare, organize and preserve all project-related documents and share them with the supervisor within due time.
∎ Prepare or collect media & communication materials (Photographs, Case studies, etc.) required to ensure project visibility.
∎ Assist in archiving the project documents (hard copy and electronic copy) as per IR guidelines.
∎ Supporting organization of events and activities and helping with the request for goods and quotations according to project needs.
∎ Organize a regular monthly meeting with CP Assistants, and Volunteers and share meeting minutes & action plans with PC.
∎ Participate in service and community mapping (population data, familiarity with leaders, sports field identification) as part of the community mobilization initiative
∎ Facilitate awareness-raising discussion with key religious leaders, potential leaders, teachers, and Rohingya refugee men and boys on GBV prevention (Harmful Gender Norms, child marriage, dowry system, polygamy, domestic violence, healthy family relationship, aggressive behavior/ positive construction of masculinity, anger management, etc.)
∎ Volunteer identification, Training, and follow-up.
∎ Capacity-building initiatives for project participants, key stakeholders, and project staff at the program level (20%)
∎ Activities:
∎ Capacity building plan and facilitate training for Adolescent Skill Development Facilitators, Trained Psychosocial Workers, Community Volunteers & CBCPGs
∎ Conduct awareness and information sessions on psychosocial and mental health issues to reduce stigma and increase access to support for MHPSS needs including substance use and survivors of violence
∎ Support Rohingya community volunteers through capacity building and case follow up
∎ Participate and facilitate weekly and monthly project-related awareness-raising and feedback sessions at FDMN & host community level.
∎ Orient key stakeholders on Complaints & Feedback Mechanism (CFM), Child Protection, Safeguarding & Gender Sensitivity issues with project activities.
∎ Organize training and workshop in different sectors for internal and external stakeholders.
∎ Ensures comprehensive and effective communication, coordination, and advocacy with different stakeholders (5%)
∎ Activities:
∎ Support with communication with communities activities including monitoring and advocacy
∎ Explore the causes of psychosocial stresses among the target population; at the individual level, family, and community levels through focus groups and individual interviews
∎ Support in developing MHPSS Information, Education, and Communication (IEC)
∎ Ensure effective networking and coordination with CiC, RRRC, and the Sector Coordinator for child development and skill-building activities.
∎ Liaison with other sectors, Imam, Majhis, and other religious leaders in Bhasanchar.
∎ Organized lesson-learned workshop for further organizational development.
∎ Others (5%)
∎ Activities:
∎ Participate & involve with seasonal programs (Ramadan, Qurbani, Winterization, etc.) activities.
∎ Ensure that local purchases and expenditures are done as per Islamic Relief Bangladesh policy.
∎ Maintain the stock book, inventory, and other essential registers properly and timely in an effective manner.
∎ Support in the procurement of materials like requisition, follow-up, etc.
∎ Take initiatives to ensure the security of project staff and participants during the intervention.
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, exploitation, Fraud, Bribery & Money Laundering to achieve the program’s goals of safeguarding implementation and as well as Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on the safeguarding of harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation, Fraud, Bribery & Money Laundering for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Being a member of Islamic Relief as a child-friendly organization, it is the core responsibility and obligation of each staff member to understand and obey IR Child Protection & PSEA Policy and respond accordingly as and when required.
∎ Willing and able to travel frequently for extended periods and to remote areas of the projects.
∎ Perform any other duties assigned by Supervisor
