∎ ESDO works for environmental protection and conservation of nature with the focus of toxic free world. ESDO has been working with initiated environmental study, media communication and policy advocacy to stop plastic pollution, Lead free Paint, Mercury Free dentistry, Mercury Phase-out, Sustainable Chemical management, and approach towards Zero waste and Sustainable Environmental livelihood; in addition adaption and mitigation of climate change impact. ESDO`s ecovillage and ecotourism project approach is exciting in gaining new knowledge of management initiatives. Assistant Program Officer will be responsible for implementing learning, knowledge management, and advocacy activities under assigned project. She will design and execute research, learning and communication activities. She will play a key role to conduct study and report writing, project development, and optimum use of ICT tools. Additionally, Assistant Program Officer will be responsible for grant making/fund rising; generating learning outcomes that would influence ESDO programs as well the international community of practice.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Project development and implementation
∎ Project Proposal writing, liaison with donors,
∎ Project implementation and management,
∎ Conduct research and documentation,
∎ Report writing,
∎ Event management
∎ Coordinate learning and action review to ensure continuous improvement, with relevant programs and departments
∎ Dissemination and Outreach
∎ Engage with various knowledge and learning networks within ESDO partners, working closely with relevant organizational learning initiatives to better coordinate activities.
∎ Actively participate in the national and regional community of practice focused on assign project activities.
∎ Help showcase project impact through media articles, blog posts and other engagement methods with a target audience of stakeholders in the donor community.
∎ Help develop high quality program outreach materials such as brochures, multi-media presentations, photographs and video snippets.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 30 years
∎ The position requires a candidate with minimum of 2 years of experience in international development with a specific focus on learning, knowledge, grants management and/or research activities on environmental health.
∎ Experience assessing knowledge sharing needs and identifying effective dissemination and learning activities/programs.
∎ Ability to articulate technical program learnings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
∎ Familiarity with graphic design and video editing skills (preferred but not required).
∎ Quantitative or mixed-method and analytical skills would be a plus.
∎ Bengali language proficiency would also be a plus.
∎ Good writing and verbal communication skills both in Bengali and English.
∎ Comprehensive knowledge and skills of Microsoft Windows 8 or upgraded version, Excel, SPSS,
∎ e-mail and web applications with certificates of Diploma on Computer Education.
∎ Needs-based project visit and travel within the country
∎ Self-ability to supervise and manage field project and its activities
∎ Ability to work with rural communities, hardworking, and frequent traveling are needed,
∎ Sound health is also a requirement.
∎ SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
∎ Familiarity with key donor requirements (e.g. Foundation, Charity, EU, UN, the World Bank, etc.)
∎ Demonstrated ability to lead and manage change in complex organizations
∎ Track record of grant success (solicitation, management, reporting, evaluation)
∎ Able to operate fluently in English.
