Educational Requirements:
∎ The candidate must have B.Sc (Hon's) in Genetics and Plant Breeding/ Agronomy/ Crop Botany/ Plant Breeding/ Biotechnology/ Pathology/ Horticulture with minimum CGPA 2.50 or 2nd class/ division or equivalent result in all academic examinations
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 2 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Execute the breeding program that is planned by the research authority
∎ Collect genetic resources of Rice
∎ Develop and maintain the CMS (Cytoplasmic Male Sterile), Maintainer Lines, Restorer Lines and Purification Nursery
∎ Source and test Cross Nursery and evaluate the Nursery
∎ Develop the experimental hybrids and evaluate the Exotic materials
∎ Invention and maintain the Nuclear seeds of parents
∎ Help the subordinates to improve their knowledge regards of experimental design, layout preparation, data collection, data analysis and scientific reports preparation
∎ Assist to prepare the budget
∎ Keep up to date with the new production ideas of government and non-government organization
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
∎ Perform any other jobs as assigned by the management
Additional Requirements:
∎ Have practical knowledge on breeding, hybridization, production, maintenance.
∎ Basic knowledge in planning and execution of research works as well as product evaluation activities.
∎ Have adequate knowledge to maintain inbreeds lines.
∎ Have proper knowledge to choice a correct crossing methods either diallele or reciprocal crosses, line x tester analysis, stability Analysis, GCA and SCA variances
∎ Have proper knowledge of data analysis, evaluation and selection to develop new hybrids
∎ Have necessary skills on computer program for data recording, processing and analysis
∎ Able to critical analysis of research findings
∎ Have enough strength and skills to run the program successfully
∎ Have good command and relationship over the respective staffs of seed research and development to work in a team
∎ Have good communications with national and international expertise to make benefit the program
∎ Properly manage any unwanted situation
∎ Able to work under stress situation
