Job Context:
∎ BIGD is a small but fast growing academic organization with various teams working on different projects. We want a strategic leader who will identify data and analytics needs in BIGD and design appropriate solutions. S/he will develop systems and software for central management, build capacity for day-to-day maintenance of IT equipment. In addition to technical and analytic skills, the candidate must be to be creative and agile to support strategic decisions.
∎ Nature of Job: Full-time Contractual
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Strategic IT and data analytics guidance for the organization
∎ Actively participate in developing and implementing new, innovative strategies for improving IT management and services at BIGD.
∎ Build capacity on data science in our research
∎ Monitoring daily IT operations, including staff, server hardware, software, and operating systems.
∎ Actively engage in the design and development of software applications to provide quality, high-performance, user-centric and data-rich applications.
∎ Coordinating technology (hardware and software) installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
∎ Develop, maintain, update, and facilitate IT orientation of new staff. Trained new resources person to provide day-to-day IT support and supervise.
∎ Generating performance reports for operating systems.
∎ Assuring all IT activities are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes and regulations.
∎ Evaluating technology risks in order to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Skills Required: knowledge in ERP, Networking and Security Access control, Server Management, Data science
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s): AWS Cloud, Database Administrator (DBA), Linux, Oracle Application Server, Oracle Database
∎ Proficient in Microsoft Windows software, including server, office, and exchange.
∎ Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and services.
∎ Highly organized, driven, passionate, and detail-oriented.
∎ Excellent writing and communications skills
