• The candidate must have 3-5 years' experience of eye hospital management.

• The candidate must have at least 3 years' experience of business development in a reputable eye (Bangladesh Eye Hospital/ Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital/ Dhaka Eye Care/ Lions Eye Hospital / Green Eye Hospital etc.) hospital.

• The candidate should have good interpersonal and leadership skills.

• Candidates having a good command of computer applications will get advantage.

Job Context

• Gram Unnayan Karma (GUK) is a national non-government development organization in Bangladesh. This organization is helping the under-privileged people of Bangladesh by providing financial support, education, healthcare, capacity building training, women empowerment, entrepreneurship development, disaster response & climate change, market linkage etc. that enhance their lives & livelihoods. GUK is operating in 56 districts of Bangladesh by setting up 500 offices and deploying more than 5500 employees. GUK has taken a special initiative for prevention and control of needless and blindness of the mass people and therefore, the organization has established 3 modern well equipped eye hospitals in Dhaka, Bogura and Dinajpur for providing quality eye care service at affordable cost.

• GUK is looking for Assistant Genearal Manager to manage the overall operation of all the hospitals under the umbrella of GUK Eye Hospital.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop business plan and annual budget for each hospital, get approval from hospital management and lead the operation team to achieve the goal.

• Develop standard operating procedure and controlling mechanism to ensure high quality service and customer satisfaction.

• Supervise the activities of hospital managers and ensure smooth operation of all units of GUK Eye Hospital.

• Identify skill gap in all levels of operation and take initiative for minimizing the gap to ensure a high performance of the operation team.

• Develop brand image of Guk Eye Hospital aligning with its vision and mission.

• Ensure a highly satisfactory working environment for doctors and practitioners within the organization and develop good relationships within the industry.

• Controlling operational expenses to ensure sustainable operation.

• Approve plan and target of each operating unit like OPD, Camp, Surgery, Lab, Pharmacy etc.

• Prepare daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly progress reports for onward submission to concerned authorities.

• Responsible for keeping and updating all records and documents including the hospital license in time.

• Develop collaboration with donor agencies and partnership with esteemed industry players at home and abroad.

• Track changes in technology and business environment to propose necessary changes in policies and procedures.

• Ensure timely procurement of all equipment and hospital consumables as well as recruitment of doctors, practitioners, and staff.
