Job Context:
∎ Friends In Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB), is a Bangladeshi non-governmental organisation founded in 1979 under the Societies` Registration Act, 1860. The organisation is also registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau and the Micro Credit Regulatory Authority, of the Government of Bangladesh that advances children`s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child and the young people. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. In addition, its girls and young women who are most affected. Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

The organization combines grassroots service delivery, social mobilization and advocacy in its work and works in collaboration with communities, civil society, the Government and private sectors.
∎ Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is going to implement Education Cannot Wait (ECW) Multi Year Resilience Program (MYRP) top up funding under its Humanitarian Preparedness and Response Program, Cox`s Bazar in partnership with Plan International Bangladesh (PIB). The duration of the project is 17 Months (to be extended subject to the provision of project extension afterward). The position will be recruited for implementing the project based at the Field Office at Ukhia with substantial field activities at different camps and host communities. The job is contractual for the project period with a three (3) months` probation period.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Assistant Finance Officer will be responsible to support day-to-day financial and record keeping management of the Project. S/he will be reportable to Finance Officer and s/he will have functional relationship with Finance Manager, Humanitarian preparedness and Response Program.
∎ Detailed Responsibilities:
∎ Assist Finance Officer in preparing vouchers, checking bills of ECW Project.
∎ Assist Record keeping of all invoices and other bills, staff advance, etc. and cross check for quality ensuring Checking petty cash expenses, daily cash count sheet and petty cash reimbursement
∎ Assist and maintain and preserve Books of accounts such as: Cash Book/ Fixed Assets Register/General and subsidiary ledger/ Cheque issue register.
∎ Support on entry of all expenditure in accounting software on daily basis.
∎ Support on maintaining supplier ledger.
∎ Support for timely ensure VAT Tax deposit to govt treasury.
∎ Support on banking.
∎ S/he will ensure proper inventory of resources at field level.
∎ Assist liaison and correspondence with various Banks, organization, NGO and other offices.
∎ Child protection, gender equality and inclusion:
∎ Ensures that FIVDB and Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and FIVDB and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), PSEA Policy, their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 26 to 55 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Fluency in Bangla (both reading and writing).
∎ Fluency in Chittagonian and/or Rohingya is a plus for this position.
∎ Prior experience of working in greater Chittagong Division and knowledge.
∎ English proficiency and Computer knowledge is a plus.
∎ Willing to take challenge of working in a participatory approach for Rohingya Community/ Host Community.
∎ Good communication, Facilitation and motivational skill.
∎ Understanding of local culture.
∎ Abilities to undertake extensive travel to village level.
∎ Ability to work under pressure.

Salary:
∎ Tk. 43900 (Monthly)
∎ 10% of the Basic Salary will be deducted as Staff Security Fund (Payment made after project closing/ Leave from FIVDB) Deduction of Tax at the source Yearly Salary Increment(Up to 5-10% based on Performance Appraisal and budgeted provision of the selected project)
