• Working knowledge of MEP systems and ability to coordinate with technical teams.

• Full-time availability onsite at Mirpur-1, Dhaka.

• Experience collaborating with international consultants.

• Ability to handle multiple contractors and vendors while ensuring site discipline.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and architectural documentation tools.

• Strong leadership qualities and ability to manage teams across disciplines.

Position Overview:

BMSTL is seeking an Architect & General Manager to oversee the execution and finishing phase of its 400-bed multi-specialty tertiary hospital in Dhaka. The role combines architectural supervision with overall project management responsibility. The selected candidate will serve as the key on-site leader responsible for ensuring design execution, material selection and costing efficiency, high-quality interior finishing, and effective coordination between international consultants and local teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Architectural & Interior Execution

Supervise and ensure high-quality execution of architectural and interior works across all areas of the hospital. Maintain a keen eye for detail to deliver world-class interior finishing. Provide practical solutions to design and execution challenges on-site.

Materials & Costing Oversight

Evaluate and recommend materials with cost-effective alternatives (e.g., panels, tiles, lights, sanitary ware) without compromising quality. Develop sourcing strategies for both imported and locally available materials. Track and control material usage, minimizing wastage and ensuring timely procurement.

Project & Contractor Coordination

Act as the key liaison between international consultants, local architects, contractors, MEP teams, and vendors. Coordinate daily site activities to ensure smooth execution and adherence to timelines. Resolve construction and design-related issues promptly.

MEP & Technical Integration

Possess working knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. Ensure proper architectural integration with MEP designs and supervise execution quality. Work closely with biomedical and MEP consultants to maintain hospital-specific compliance.

Compliance & Standards

Ensure all works comply with Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC), RAJUK guidelines, fire safety codes, and hospital accreditation requirements (e.g., JCI). Maintain all necessary documentation for regulatory and accreditation purposes.

Communication & Reporting

Prepare and present progress reports, cost updates, and deviation logs to management. Communicate fluently in English with international consultants and in Bangla with contractors and staff. Issue timely recommendations for corrective actions when required.
