Professional qualifications like CA, CMA, ACCA will be an added advantage.
Minimum 7+ years of experience in project finance related role, ideally in healthcare, construction, infrastructure, or large-scale real estate projects.
Strong understanding of income statement analysis and healthcare financial modelling.
Proven track record in connecting with vendors and suppliers to source materials/equipment cost-effectively both locally and internationally.
Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of driving savings in large capital procurement contracts.
In-depth knowledge of the healthcare market and supplier landscape in Bangladesh.
Working knowledge of Bangladesh import duties, VAT, and customs processes related to medical equipment and hospital infrastructure.
Strong understanding of contractor management and financial vetting of large capital expenditure projects.
Proficient in financial reporting tools and ERP systems.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent in English & Bangla.
Experience working in hospital or real-estate projects (e.g. hotel, commercial building)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to provide strong financial governance at this critical stage of our 400-500 bed tertiary care hospital project in Dhaka. As the project moves into interior execution, equipment procurement & staffing hires, the Finance Manager will oversee all project financials, lead vendor negotiations and sourcing, and deliver accurate financial projections to keep the project aligned with budget and timelines.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in income statement analysis and a deep understanding of the healthcare market dynamics in Bangladesh. They must demonstrate a proven ability to engage and negotiate with multiple vendors to secure cost-effective, high-quality materials and medical equipment from both local and international sources, ensuring maximum value and efficiency across all phases of the hospital project.
Responsibilities:
Project Financial Oversight
Review, validate, and continuously monitor all project financials including initial investments, current costs, and upcoming expenditure forecasts.
Liaise closely with consultants (foreign and local) to vet feasibility studies and financial projections.
Conduct detailed income statement analysis to support financial decision-making.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive Project Cost Control System to monitor budget adherence and prevent overruns.
Prepare periodic (monthly/quarterly) consolidated financial reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.
Vendor and Contractor Financial Vetting
Support the CEO and Project Director in financial due diligence of upcoming hires for finishing, interior, MEP, and equipment suppliers.
Actively engage with multiple vendors locally and internationally to negotiate better pricing and improve sourcing efficiency for materials, equipment, and services.
Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of driving savings in large capital procurement contracts.
Review and validate all BOQs, payment terms, and contractor claims to ensure accuracy and contractual compliance.
Establish and manage a robust contractor payment approval workflow.
Capital and Cash Flow Management
Prepare and maintain the project cash flow forecast.
Work with banks & financial institutions, to optimize working capital.
Manage drawdown schedules and financing agreements, ensuring timely availability of funds for each phase.
Procurement and Asset Management
Provide financial oversight on large-value procurement including medical equipment, furniture, and MEP assets.
Lead cost-saving initiatives by identifying alternative suppliers or cost-efficient solutions.
Support asset capitalization plans and documentation for future hospital operations.
Policy, Compliance & Risk Management
Assist in establishing financial policies, internal controls, and audit procedures to minimize project financial risk.
Monitor compliance with all local regulations and taxation requirements.
Collaborate with auditors and legal advisors during audits and compliance checks.
Preparation for Operations Phase
Lead the preparation of detailed pre-operational budgets including staffing, medical consumables, facilities management, and administrative costs.
