∎ At least five years working experience in NGO/INGO and among them at least two years’ experience in similar positions preferably in agriculture program.
∎ Able to develop module & schedule for several agriculture and livestock related trainings
∎ Knowledge of practices that integrate climate resilience, productivity, and sustainability (e.g., crop diversification, water management, conservation agriculture).
∎ Skill on training organizing & facilitation on climate-smart and nutrition-sensitive homestead gardening and rooftop gardening
∎ Sound knowledge and practical experience on establish agriculture demonstration firms, community gardening, rooftop gardening, farmer’s field schools, develop resources farmers, seed bank, integrated farming system, homestead agriculture, kitchen garden, livestock etc.
∎ Experience in delivering training sessions and workshops on climate-smart techniques.
∎ Previous experience of group formation, Climate Resilient Resource Farmers (RF), Livestock Service Provider (LSP) and work with community institutions and CSOs.
∎ Ability to communicate with local level stakeholders including government departments, local govt. and civil society organizations.
∎ Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
∎ Exceptional verbal & written communication and presentation skills.
∎ Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities & Context:

∎ Provide technical support on homestead gardening like – climate resilient agriculture technologies, sack gardening, kite gardening, rhizome basket ready compost, grafting & budding mixed cropping seasonal vegetable etc.
∎ Training and input support for climate-smart and nutrition-sensitive homestead gardening and rooftop gardening (Urban & Rural)
∎ Promote Integrating Agrimax business model with homestead gardening
∎ Provide training capacity and skill building training to the Resource Farmers (RF), Livestock Service Provider (LSP) and extension worker.
∎ Promoting scale up community garden, village model farm with nursery (Urban & Rural)
∎ Provide technical support to livestock and poultry rearing and organize vaccination campaign
∎ Technical support to the farmers/owners of demonstration firm.
∎ Establishes Climate Resilience Farmer Field School (CRFFS), conduct sessions and value chain development.
∎ Develop module for several agriculture and livestock related training

∎ B. ABOUT ANANDO
∎ ANANDO is a national, non-government, non-profit, non-political and voluntary development organization that came into existence as “ANANDO” in 1996 and afterwards registered with the Directorate of Social Services and NGO Affairs Bureau in August 1997. The goal of ANANDO is the reduction of poverty by addressing sustainable livelihood development, women empowerment, climate change, water and sanitation, skill development promotion of enterprise, and peacebuilding. The purpose of ANANDO is to serve the extremely vulnerable communities and people at risk by reducing their vulnerability and suffering and promoting their sustainable socioeconomic development.
∎ ANANDO’s programs are being implemented in 8 districts (Tangail, Cox’s Bazer, Khagrachari, Gazipur, Jamalpur, Rangamati, Satkhira, and Chittagong) through 21 Projects/Branch Offices of which 16 offices are own establishment. Its current development partners include USAID, Welthungerhilfe – BMZ, GFFO, Germany, Licht Brucke – BMZ, Germany, GIZ, Department of Women Affairs (GOB), Bureau of Non-Formal Education (GOB), Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP), and PKSF.
∎ C. ABOUT THE PROJECT
∎ ANANDO, a long-standing and reliable partner of WHH, aligns with WHH's development strategy to strengthen its deep-rooted presence in Satkhira. This collaboration aims to address the economic challenges, food security issues, and livelihood concerns faced by both rural and urban populations in this coastal region. ANANDO will start the implementation of the three-year-long project titled “Community-based programme for climate-resilient and sustainable livelihoods in coastal areas of the Satkhira district, Bangladesh” in November 2024. The project aims to enhance the resilience of vulnerable communities and marginalized 5000 households against climate change impacts by improving access to safe sanitation, increasing agricultural production, developing women's interparental skills, and reinforcing local government capacity for climate-resilient measures. The project is financially supported by Welthungerhilfe-Germany and BMZ (German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development).
∎ D. ROLE PURPOSE
∎ ANANDO is inviting applications for the position of Agriculture and Livelihood Officer, who will undertake the project’s agriculture and livelihood-related programs, under the supervision of Project Manager and in collaboration with the Head of Program of ANANDO. The Agriculture and Livelihood Officer will be based in Satkhira district to lead the project’s livelihood and on-farm and off-farm components.
∎ The Agriculture and Livelihood Officer will be responsible for conduct and organising all Agriculture and Livestock related activities of the project. S/he will act as technical officer Agriculture and livestock related activities of the project. Responsible to organize and facilitate several agro based training and workshop, establish agriculture demonstration firm, community gardening, rooftop gardening, farmers field schools, develop resources farmers, seed bank, technical support to farmers, effective network and coordination with sever agriculture stakeholders etc. as per requirement of the project.
∎ RESPONSIBILITIES
