Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Customs Compliance: Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import/export laws, and tariffs.
∎ Clearance Management: Oversee the efficient clearance of e-commerce shipments at the airport, ensuring timely release.
∎ Documentation: Manage required documentation for customs declarations, including invoices, certificates, and import/export permits.
∎ Coordination: Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and logistics teams to resolve clearance issues.
∎ Duty & Tax Calculation: Ensure proper calculation and payment of duties, taxes, and fees on shipments.
∎ Process Optimization: Improve customs clearance procedures for faster processing and reduced delays.
∎ Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to customs violations, delays, or fines.
∎ Compliance Monitoring: Keep updated on changing regulations and ensure team adherence to new laws and guidelines.
∎ Reporting: Prepare regular reports on customs clearance performance, issues, and KPIs for senior management.
