Education:
∎ Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Environnement or a closely related field. A Master's Degree is preferred, but applicants with extensive relevant work experience will be considered equally.

∎ Minimum 5 years of professional working experience in the field of monitoring and evaluation, preferably in the development or humanitarian sectors.
∎ A solid understanding of sectors such as Biodiversity, Environment, Forestry, Fishery, or Natural Resource Management.
∎ Candidates should possess project management experience and a strong understanding of logical frameworks (log frames, theory of change).
∎ Strong knowledge of M&E methodologies, tools, and best practices.
∎ Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, STATA, or R).
∎ Familiarity with data collection platforms (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO).
∎ Excellent analytical, report writing, and presentation skills.
∎ Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
∎ Experience with donor-funded projects (e.g., USAID, UN, EU, World Bank).
∎ GIS mapping or data visualization skills (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) are an added advantage.
∎ Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail, commitment to data quality.
∎ Capable of managing multiple priorities independently, demonstrating a problem-solving mindset and meticulous attention to detail.
∎ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools. Hands-on experience with digital data systems, various communication tools, and modern IT systems is essential.
∎ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both Bengali and English, with a proven ability to engage effectively across diverse cultural environments.
∎ A strong team player who can adapt quickly to new situations and diverse environments.
∎ Willingness to travel regularly to project sites, including rural or underserved areas.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Managing an area of responsibility that forms part of the programme objectives, team agreements and/or agreements with the superior.
∎ Assisting project/programme initiatives to provide professional advisory services to and cooperate with a broad range of target groups.
∎ Advise supervisor on all tasks when implementing GIZ rules and regulations.
∎ Advise supervisor in the field of project planning, steering and monitoring.
∎ Independently implement goals and requirements set by the line manager.
∎ Make decisions which have a short-term effect within a limited project area/ unit.
∎ Assist supervisor to identify day to day problems and suggest appropriate solution.
∎ Designing and implementing effective monitoring and evaluation systems to assess the performance and impact of projects.
∎ Collecting, analyzing, and reporting on data to support informed decision-making, ensure accountability, and improve cluster effectiveness.
∎ Design and implement M&E plans and frameworks aligned with projects‘ goals and BMZ or other donor requirements.
∎ Develop data collection tools, indicators, and methodologies for tracking progress.
∎ Conduct regular field visits to monitor project implementation and gather qualitative and quantitative data.
∎ Manage data entry, cleaning, analysis, and storage using appropriate software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, KoboToolbox).
∎ Ensure timely and accurate reporting of M&E data to internal and external stakeholders.
∎ Support projects’ teams in integrating M&E findings into project planning and decision-making.
∎ Train staff and partners on M&E systems, tools, and practices.
∎ Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.
∎ Ensure data quality, integrity, and confidentiality throughout all M&E processes.
∎ Assist in baseline, midline, and endline evaluations, as well as impact assessments.
∎ GIZ Bangladesh is currently seeking applications for the position of “Advisor- Forestry & Biodiversity” from candidates under "Connect’’ Project. This position will play a key role in designing and implementing effective monitoring and evaluation systems to gauge project performance and impact. The Advisor will contribute significantly by collecting, analyzing and reporting on data, thereby enabling informed decision-making, upholding accountability and the continuous improvement of the cluster's work.
