Job Context:
∎ In partnership with Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF), Efforts for Rural Advertisement (ERA) will implement the ``Community based Resilience, Women`s Empowerment and Action (CREA) Project`` at Biswambharpur Upazila with an aim to build resilience towards climate change impacts; build resistance against domestic violence and child marriage; empower vulnerable communities especially women and girls, to address the socio-economic effects of climate change at Sunamganj district. The 5 outcomes of the project are Outcome 1: Service providers both public and local government institutions are responsive, and increased access to the quality services of community specially women & girls, Outcome 2: Improved resilience of the most vulnerable coastal, char, hill, and haor communities to climate change impact, OUTCOME: 3 Empowered women and girls are dealing with inequality, social injustice, violence incidences and raised voices, OUTCOME: 4 Strong voices and decisions are in place against DVAW and child marriage and reduced the rate of child marriage, SRHR and DVAW in the selected climate vulnerable areas, OUTCOME: 5 Increased income & reduced time poverty . To achieve above mentioned outcomes Efforts for Rural Advertisement (ERA) is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the position.
∎ The duration of the project is 3 years.
∎ Working station: Biswambharpur Upazilla, Sunamganj District with frequent field visit.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Accounts and Admin Officer will maintain project office financial and administrative functions.
∎ All the related functions will be done according the organization and donor policy procedures.
∎ The Accounts and Admin Officer is overall responsible for cash and ledger book, expenditure statement, preparing financial reports, bank ledger/statement.
∎ S/he should ensure that the expenditures are being made as per financial policies and procedures.
∎ Should explore possessing skill in problem identification, problem solving and decision-making.
∎ Accounts and Admin Officer will also maintain good communication and linkage related to financial issues and will closely work with Project Manager and Focal person of ERA.
∎ Preparation of program budget guidelines in consultation with the program management staff.
∎ Ensure payment of salary to the staff
∎ Ensure payment to suppliers on time
∎ Able to maintain software-based accounting system.
∎ Maintain records of fixed assets.
∎ Provide logistics support during training, meeting, workshop etc.
∎ Maintain and check the log books of the motorcycles
∎ Ensure security of the assets and office
∎ Tracking of fund status for proper reporting and ensuring timely fund requests
∎ Overall responsibility on resource allocation and Budget execution.
∎ Certify & review monthly/quarterly expenditure report
∎ Ensure timely preparation and submission of the financial reports.
∎ Ensure update the books of accounts on a regular basis.
∎ Ensure compliance with Income Tax Act of the government of Bangladesh
∎ Ensure compliance with VAT Act of the government of Bangladesh
∎ All kind of positive motivation to support and response in emergency
∎ In addition to that any other duties and responsibilities may assigned by the authority / organization which need to be carried out.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ Prior working experience in Haor will be given preferences.
∎ Right Based/SGBV/CGBV.
∎ Ability to financial management, admin & logistics support including clear understanding about budget preparation, budgetary control, financial report, budget variance analysis, asset management, dealing VAT/Tax, procurement etc.
∎ Ability to ensure budgetary control
∎ Has knowledge on VAT/Tax compliance
∎ Strong critical and analytical thinking capabilities
∎ Written and oral communications skills in English and Bengali
∎ Computer literacy, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
∎ Practicing gender, Safeguarding, code of conduct and cultural diversity
∎ Skill to operate virtual platform like Skype/Zoom/Team etc.
∎ Able to drive motorcycle and will have valid driving license
Salary:
∎ Tk. 33000 (Monthly)
∎ Gross including all with 5% yearly increment.
