Responsibilities & Context:
1. Financial Reporting & General Accounting
Financial Statements Preparation: Independently prepare, analyze, and finalize full-cycle Financial Statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow Statement, and Statement of Changes in Equity) accurately and on time.
IFRS Compliance: Ensure all financial reporting strictly adheres to IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and local accounting frameworks, including the preparation of relevant disclosure notes and adjustment entries (e.g., IFRS 16 lease schedules).
Record Keeping & Vouching: Maintain flawless accounting records, process daily transactions, and develop accounting vouchers (Payment, Receipt, Journal) in strict accordance with the organization’s internal financial policies.
Period-End Closing: Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing procedures, including bank and ledger reconciliations.
2. Taxation & VAT Compliance
VAT Management: Calculate, prepare, and submit monthly VAT returns (including relevant Mushak forms) and all supporting documents (Treasury Challans, VDS certificates) to the VAT authority strictly within statutory deadlines.
Source Deductions: Ensure accurate and timely deduction, deposit, and reporting of Withholding Tax (WHT) and Value Added Tax at Source (VDS) for all vendor payments, payroll, and other transactions.
Corporate Income Tax: Independently compute corporate income tax liability, calculate deferred tax, and manage the end-to-end preparation and submission of the annual Income Tax Return.
Regulatory Updates: Continuously monitor changes in the National Board of Revenue (NBR) regulations, finance acts, and tax laws, ensuring the company remains fully compliant and advising management on potential financial impacts.
3. Liaison, Audit & External Coordination
Authority Liaison: Physically visit VAT circles, Tax zones, and Customs offices when required. Maintain professional relationships with tax officials to resolve queries, face hearings, and submit required documentation.
Certificate Management: Proactively coordinate with tax authorities for the timely collection of crucial documents, including the Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC), VAT exemption certificates, and IRC/ERC renewals (if applicable).
Audit Facilitation: Act as the primary focal point during annual external and internal audits. Provide required schedules, trial balances, and working papers, effectively addressing and resolving audit queries.
Ad-hoc Tasks: Perform other strategic financial, VAT, and tax-related duties, investigations, or reports as assigned by the management team.
