Educational Requirements:
∎ Making video content requires a high level technical/professional expertise and creativity; therefore, successful candidate is required to have the following qualifications:
∎ Demonstrated competency with developing and producing video content, animations and info graphics for other organizations/products/themes.
∎ The videographer must be capable of designing innovative and creative concepts with guidance from ARTICLE 19 management.
∎ Having a good understanding about the Bangladeshi media ecosystem including its very own jargons and terminology.
Job Context:
∎ ARTICLE19 Bangladesh and South Asia, is a British human rights organization with a specific mandate and focus on the defense and promotion of freedom of expression (FoE) and freedom of information worldwide and having its South Asia Regional Office based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. ARTICLE19 Bangladesh and South Asia is seeking for a Consultant to design and develop online training modules, virtual training workbooks and a practical virtual training plan for journalists and social media communicators, especially for women journalists and communicators at the grass root level. These tools will be used to build their capacities through training and provide them knowledge on the ongoing pandemic situation and afterward.
∎ This will be a part of the project titled "Securing Safeguard for Media Workers in Bangladesh" being implemented by ARTICLE 19 Bangladesh and South Asia and funded by the Royal Danish Embassy in Bangladesh. The overarching goal of this project is to fight impunity on crime against journalists in Bangladesh through providing journalists, and other social communicators with the tools and support to protect themselves, so they can perform their important role in democracy by defending Freedom of Expression (FoE) and Rights to Information (RTI).
∎ Job Location: Consultant doesn`t not attend office on a regular basis other than urgent meetings and deadlines. Regular communication with Project Focal is must to provide assignment upgrades.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Purpose of the Consultancy:
∎ The objective of this assignment is to develop 5 videos of 3 to 5 minutes length on the basis of training modules and virtual workbooks developed to provide online training for journalist and SMCs.
∎ Scope of Work/Specific tasks/responsibilities:
∎ The videographer will fulfil the following tasks:
∎ a. Incorporate info graphics, animated characters and narration.
∎ b. Discuss with the Consultant for material development as well as ARTICLE 19 management at the developing process to understand the narrative and get accurate content to be used for each video.
∎ c. Develop detailed storyboard concept for each of the 5 videos to present to the ARTICLE 19 management.
∎ d. Design video content as per requirements determined by ARTICLE 19 including sound, editing, narration, subtitling etc.
∎ e. Use latest high-quality video making software.
∎ f. Keep the size of videos standard so that they are easily downloadable, usable at any portable devices and sharable at any website, social media and other means; and transferable via email without cropping.
∎ g. The videos have to be friendly for mobile phones, tabs, laptops and desktop platforms.
∎ h. The videos have to be compatible with both operating system, IOS and Windows.Deliverables:
∎ The videographer will provide the following deliverables:
∎ Submit a comprehensive and detailed work plan for the assignment period.
∎ In discussion with the Consultant for materials development, develop and submit storyboard concept for each of 5 videos.
∎ Edit and refine the content of videos after receiving feedback from ARTICLE 19 management.
∎ Deliver the 5 final quality videos of 3 to 5 minutes length in a secured and portable device (DVD/pen drive/external hard disc) as per the scope work stated above.
Additional Requirements:
∎ The videographer must submit 3 examples of past video productions those have directly designed and produced.
∎ Deliverables:
∎ The videographer will provide the following deliverables:
∎ Submit a comprehensive and detailed work plan for the assignment period.
∎ In discussion with the Consultant for materials development, develop and submit storyboard concept for each of 5 videos.
∎ Edit and refine the content of videos after receiving feedback from ARTICLE 19 management.
∎ Deliver the 5 final quality videos of 3 to 5 minutes length in a secured and portable device (DVD/pen drive/external hard disc) as per the scope work stated above.
Salary:
∎ This is not a regular job only a time-bound consultancy. Thus, during thisconsultancy period a fee of maximum BDT 100,000.00 (In word: Taka One Lac Only) including VAT and Tax will be payable to the Consultant. This assignment is expected to be completed within 5 weeks. The videographer will be expected to start developing video content and videos immediately, in July 2020, after signing the contract.
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ As the deliverables involve third parties (trainers) during the assignment period, it is expected that the timeline for submission of respective deliverable will be determined based on requirement throughout July 2020 and August 2020.
