Responsibilities & Context:
Record and reconcile all money deposited in the drop box by cashiers.
Witnessing (by signature) of all drop safe(s), opening of safe and counting of floats – reconciling to drop sheet per Hotel policy.
Count and verify money in cashier envelopes.
Prepare bank deposit slips for daily banking.
Count own house bank daily and properly account for all disbursements made therefrom.
Organize foreign exchange to be sent daily basis.
Prepare General Cashier’s daily report.
Ensure Front Office shift leaders have sufficient change for the weekend float and for operations throughout the week.
Reimburse cashiers for disbursements made by the (due backs).
Account for petty cash reimbursements and ensure appropriate receipts and approval of Financial Controller.
Handle all foreign exchange receipts for banking.
Monitor foreign exchange rates weekly to ensure that the Hotel’s rates are appropriate.
