Job Context:

During this long span, ESDO has adapted with the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community focused and people centered approach has been adapted by ESDO while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 273 upazilas under 49 districts of Bangladesh covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.
∎ ESDO in Partnership with Plan International Bangladesh is going to implement School Under Tree (An alternative learning programme to continue education of Sponsored Children during COVID) Project in Hatibandha and Jaldhaka Upazila under Lalmonirhat and Nilphamari district, ESDO is seeking to hire the qualified, committed and dedicated person according to the following conditions.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Union Coordinator will be responsible to establish alternative education center at community through community mobilization
∎ Conduct children survey and education volunteer selection as per organization guideline
∎ Assist Technical Officer to organize training for education volunteer, parent’s group, elites and Union Parishad Members and sometimes directly conduct the training.
∎ Arrange and conduct orientation on gender responsive safeguarding for Parent’s groups and issue-based parenting session (child marriage, engaging children with labour, gender-based violence, etc) with the parents of the children of alternative education centers as regular basis.
∎ Conduct session with the children on Coronavirus diseases and its prevention and establish child to child approach which will spread over the communities and eventually contribute in changing people’s behaviour.
∎ In-depth knowledge on secondary education system in Bangladesh and curriculum of secondary education.
∎ Expert in short duration learning curriculum and content/course development analyzing existing NCTB curriculum
∎ Flair knowledge on identifying students learning gap and appropriate lesson plan development during COVID 19
∎ Expert in training need assessment of education volunteers and training curriculum design, development and facilitate for the student of secondary education at community-based learning recovery initiative.
∎ Report writing skills as per organization requirement in Bangla and English
∎ Conduct day to day supportive supervision of Alternative Education Centre and provide technical support, effective feedback and coaching to the Education Volunteers to achieve the learning outcomes of the children.
∎ S/he will assist the Technical Officer in planning and to achieve monthly and quarterly target activities.
∎ Monitor safeguarding culture at all level of the project activities and reporting & responding of incident happened.
∎ Prepare field visit schedule/plan at the beginning of the month and submit to the immediate supervisor.
∎ Support to M&KM Officer in data collection for baseline and end line, periodic monitoring, special study and experience capitalization of the project.
∎ Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly progress report both qualitative and quantitative and submit to the Project Manager.
∎ Maintain excellent coordination with project stakeholders (Children, parents, elites, UP, CBO, School Teacher, SMC etc.)
∎ 100% field work to implementation of project activities, effective communication and necessary documentation and reporting.
∎ Comply with ESDO and Plan International Bangladesh policies and practices (child protection, HR, gender responsive safeguarding, health and safety, gender, and other procedures.
∎ Reporting to the Technical Officer
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Age at most 35 years but flexible for highly relevant experienced candidates
∎ Both Females and Males are allowed to apply but females are especially encouraged.
∎ At least 3-5 years experiences in NGOs on relevant field of supervisory role.
∎ Experience of community mobilization, education situation analysis on child vulnerability monitoring issue;
∎ Capacity building of stakeholders like children, parents, SMC/PTA, CBO etc.
∎ Maintain liaison with Union Parishad and other stakeholders to mobilize the resources
∎ Excellent skills on report writing in English
∎ Computer skill on MS Office & Power point and Virtual Communication
∎ Willing to stay at field level and work by riding bi-cycle.
∎ ESDO/Plan Management may revise the job description as and when feel necessary to do so.
Salary: Tk. 13000 - 15600 (Monthly)
