Job Context:
∎ Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Near about three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people to bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted with the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community focused and people centered approach has been adapted by ESDO while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 331 upazilas under 51 districts of Bangladesh covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.
∎ This project aims to increase the resilience of the Covid-19 affected and displaced slum population in selected slums by increase social protection and ensuring sustainable livelihood through ensuring access to proper water, sanitation, increasing awareness related to Covid-19, and providing technical training to make the population skilled enough to get a work or be an entrepreneur or get a job.
∎ As partnership with Climate Bridge Fund (CBF), Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) & Muslim Aid- UK, Bangladesh Country Office (MABCO) jointly implementing Enhance Emergency Responses through Social and Economic protection for Urban slum dwellers for addressing new normal situation of Covid-19 (RESCUE) Project at Rajshahi district. ESDO is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the position.
∎ This position service duration for 3-6 month from the joining date
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop and presents lesson plans by using a variety of techniques, including lectures, projects, exhibits, field trips, audio-visual, computers, and the internet.
∎ Conduct training class/sessions by planning and developing course curricular according to the guideline or Competency Standards/course curricula and other training and learning materials.
∎ Ensure inclusive training delivery through engaging all learners actively.
∎ Conduct formative assessment and provide appropriate feedback on learners' progress.
∎ Support to communicate with BTEB for formative and summative assessment and ensure assessment facilities.
∎ Day-to-day report to the line manager to ensure the smooth running of the course/batch and prepare periodical reports.
∎ Provide extra care for week learners/slow learners.
∎ Prepare case study as and when necessary.
∎ Intercepts deterioration in achievement by counselling learners with academic difficulties
∎ Record keeping:
∎ To ensure all records are maintained and stored appropriately in line with ESDO document management and IT policies.
∎ Keep learners’ information properly and provide to management when required
∎ Keep parents informed of academic performance, attendance, and social acclimation; provide report on all elements of learner development at parent-teacher conferences regularly and as needed.
∎ Update inventory and asset record regularly including tools & equipment, training & education materials to ensure their proper utilization.
∎ Carryout regular maintenance of computer equipment, vehicles and other electronic appliances used for practical classes
∎ Operational:
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
∎ Ensure the safety of trainees and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the program goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe classroom environment.
∎ Others:
∎ The Instructor will play an active role in the Job Placement endeavor in a systematic manner
∎ Motivate learners and provide career guideline; encourage learners to attend faculty meetings and relevant seminars, job fairs etc.
∎ Maintain Child Protection policy and community approach. Maintain networks and liaison with related local government offices, other institutions, workshops and industries.
∎ Follow up and analysis the root cause of drop out or irregularity.
∎ Ready to support the Management for learners’ enrolment.
∎ To comply with all policies, procedures, legal and regulatory requirements.
∎ Help learners on job placement and perform career counselling
∎ Any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Especially Female candidates are encouraged to apply.
∎ At least 01year experience as an instructor. Experience in relevant field will get advantage.
∎ National Certificate in Competency based Training and Assessment (Level 1 & 4) will be an added advantage within the relevant sector.
∎ Knowledge on CBT&A approach
∎ Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
∎ Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with learners/learners of different ages
∎ Ability to work in a team with different and sometime conflicting agendas.
∎ Good organization, coordination and project management skills.
∎ Ability to select and use training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the relevant trade
∎ IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and use any software adopted by ESDO.
∎ Ability to adapt to changing deadlines and priorities.
∎ Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative.
∎ Ability to manage classroom and resolve grievance/ complaints
∎ Ability to speak and write in English
Salary: Tk. 35000 (Monthly)
