Knowledge:

Responsibilities & Context:

Technical Trainer will facilitate non-formal and center-based Jute Crafts training to the selected Rohingya youths following the training module. This position will support the implementation of day to day activities according to proposal & plan in camps of the Rohingya community

  • Selection and mentoring of participants and provide training as per the training module

  • Deliver practical and theoretical training on jute crafts and product-making (bags, mats, baskets, home décor, accessories, etc.).

  • Teach participants about jute material preparation, cutting, weaving, stitching, dyeing, and finishing techniques.

  • Develop and adapt training curriculum, lesson plans, and demonstration samples.

  • Guide participants in product design and innovation based on market trends.

  • Supervise and maintain quality control during production.

  • Provide technical support in raw material handling, tool usage, and maintenance.

  • Monitor participants’ learning progress, maintain attendance, and prepare training/production reports.

  • Support market linkage, exhibitions, and showcasing of participants’ products.

  • Maintain inventory of raw materials, tools, and finished goods.

  • Ensure a safe and inclusive working environment for participants.

  • Performing Community Feedback and Response Mechanism functions.

  • Provide safeguarding, PSEA, and CFRM awareness sessions weekly to the participants.

  • Recruitment of volunteers in the skills centers.

  • Establish a vision/dream among the participants about post-training work engagement.

  • Coordinate and assist Center in Charge, Senior Project Officer-Market Linkage in monthly payments to volunteers, participants, laborers and others.

  • Supervision of the skills center volunteers.

  • Ensure continuous monitoring of the training courses to identify issues, gaps, and find proper solutions.

  • Showcase the best practices of livelihood activities and disseminate the best technologies among the project beneficiaries for income generation.

  • Prepare daily and weekly reports as may be required by BRAC and the donor agency.

  • Contribute to the project's M&E system and ensure that M&E activities are undertaken regularly and learning fed into management for decision making.

  • Execute any other task assigned by the supervisor/ management

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
