Job Context:
∎ RDRS Bangladesh is implementing `EC-PRISM` Project in Rangpur, Kurigram, Gaibandha and Lalmonirhat districts supported by Practical Action funded by European Commission. Interested candidates are requested to apply for the position of Technical Officer. Job Location: Upazila level of Rangpur, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat and Gaibandha district
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Closely work with Jute processing entrepreneurs, buyers, small jute weaving factory owners and weavers, metal workshop and youth for vocational skill training;
∎ Ensure technical support in fiber extraction, ribbon retting, improving jute fiber quality for jute farmer and processors;
∎ Provide technical support to increase smallholder farmers' knowledge and use of appropriate agricultural inputs in response to barriers and increase production and increase fiber quality;
∎ Supervise Community Mobilizers for providing technical training at grassroot level, facilitate farmer or farmers' group to cultivate of harvest of jute plants;
∎ Entrepreneur development on the basis of jute fiber extraction machine;
∎ Assist District Coordinator to link with particle board factories for proper use of broken jute sticks & trained up entrepreneurs for Jute stick processing;
∎ Assist District Coordinator to linkage with DAE, BJRI, Jute and Textile Department;
∎ Prepare reports, case study, best practice, capturing key lesson learnt and documentation;
∎ Advocacy at district level.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 3 years experience in Agriculture field in any development organization;
∎ Knowledge of jute production and marketing, jute value chain, market linkage, vocational education;
∎ Supervisory skills and management ability;
∎ Ability to keep records of time, production and costs and to make reports and recommendations for improvements in methods and equipment;
∎ Report writing skill both in English and Bengali;
∎ Willingness of frequent field visit with motorcycle;
∎ Valid motorbike driving license;
∎ Ability to work under pressure.
Salary: Tk. 28000 - 31297 (Monthly)

∎ Festival Bonus: 2
∎ Each festival bonus is equivalent to 50% of monthly consolidated salary to pay proportionately
