Educational Requirements:
∎ Graduate in Animal Husbandry/Veterinary Medicine
∎ At least 03 (three) years' relevant working experience, especially on-farm research or extension work on poultry/livestock. Experience or training in FFS approach will have added preference
∎ Prior experience or training in value chain development approach (program development, stakeholder mobilization and coordination, local service provider development, etc.)dealing with local poultry and/or livestock
∎ Skills in common Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
∎ Proven skills in data analysis and report writing

Job Context:
∎ Arannayk Foundation (AF) is a not-for-profit organization devoted to forest and biodiversity conservation in Bangladesh since 2003. It has applied for a fund under the USAID Local Works Bangladesh Activities to undertake a project on conservation and rehabilitation of forests/tree cover in Ukhiya, Cox`s Bazar, where massive deforestation and degradation of forests have taken place due to the influx of the forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals (Rohingya). The project is mainly focus on sustainable livelihood development of the affected poor people in the host communities through technical skills and market linkage development for diversified income generating activities and on capacity development of local institutions on forest conservation. Arannayk Foundation is implementing a project named Greening Environment through Livelihood Improvement and Forest Enrichment (GRREN LIFE) Project. The GREEN LIFE project has been started from May 2020 and it will continue up to April 30, 2023.
∎ AF intends to hire one `Technical Officer (Livestock)` for the GREEN LIFE Project. The main tasks for this position would be, but not necessarily limited to, the following:
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Prepare technical guidelines and session plans on poultry and livestock issues for farmer field school (FFS) sessions under the guidance of Livelihood Specialist, Field Coordinator and Project Coordinator
∎ Train and guide Field Facilitators (FF) and Community Development Volunteers (CDV)in conducting FFS and other training sessions on local poultry and livestock production technologies
∎ Train and guide FFs and CDVs to establish demonstrations on improved practices of local poultry, goat and cow rearing
∎ Mobilize technical support of Upazila Livestock Officers (ULO), technical experts of feed and veterinary medicine production and marketing companies and existing local service providers (LSP) to the project participants (VCF/FFS members)
∎ Conduct key informant interviews (KII), focus group discussion (FGD), secondary information survey and stakeholders' workshop to assess constraints and opportunities and plan market based solutions for pro-poor value chain development for local poultry, goat and cow
∎ Mobilize training for, and provide accompaniment support to, LSPs on local poultry, goat and cow for their technical capacity, market linkages and service delivery skills development
∎ Monitor performance of, and problems facing, the demonstrated/promoted technologies and advise project participants about necessary measures
∎ Collect monitoring data and photographs, analyze data and prepare project reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) on assigned project activities
∎ Performance other task within the purview of the project plan as assigned by the Field Coordinator, Program Coordinator or Project Director
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 50 years
Salary: Tk. 52000 - 55000 (Monthly)
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ One month's extra salary will be given per year as festival bonus.
