  • M.Sc. in Natural Resource Management/ Environmental Science/ Climate Change/ Forestry/Disaster Management/ Social Science/ Botany/ Zoology/ Economics/Geography and Environment / Urban and Regional Planning and other relevant subjects from any reputed Public and Private University.

Working experience:

  • At least 10+ years of progressive experience in designing, developing, implementing and managing complex programs, preferably in natural resources management, climate change, community and livelihood development, and Biodiversity Conservation.
  • Prior experience delivering large-scale or multi-sectoral, multi-donor funded programs such as USAID, UNDP, FCDO, etc.
  • Experience working with USAID-supported projects as Project Lead, Technical and Management Advisor on NRM and multi-focus projects.
  • Strong familiarity with USAID requirements, regulations, and policies.
  • Experience facilitating and supporting programmatic decision-making, adaptive management, and learning.

Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of NRM, climate resilience, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), climate change, disaster risk reduction, and co-management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in applying USAID policies, standards, and best practices, such as the ADS 201, the Program Cycle, and the CLA framework.

Skills:

  • Good organizational skills, the ability to pay close attention to detail and the ability to deliver reports in a timely manner.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines accurately and on time;
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills, and ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner, and to use innovative forms of communication.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to the program areas in Cox’s Bazar and the CHT districts, and other locations as required.
  • Capacity and willingness to be flexible and accommodating in difficult working circumstances.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience

Expertise:

  • Technical expertise in the areas of NRM and Co-management including climate change.
  • Experience in collaborating and coordinating with USAID and other external stakeholders on NRM-related matters.
  • Experience working with international and national NGOs within a consortium arrangement.
  • Experience working in Cox’s Bazar and Hill Districts.

Responsibilities & Context:

About the role:

To ensure the success of the proposed programmatic results through the provision of technical and strategic leadership of the NRM component of the USAID’s Host and Impacted Community Resilience Activity (HICRA) project being implemented in Cox’s Bazar and Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Region of the country. The NRM Team Lead will be responsible for technical and managerial actions of the NRM component of the HICRA Activity, these includes technical guidance to the staffs, management and implementation of project activities, report writing, monitoring and timely implementation of project activities.
