∎ Advanced degree in public health, social sciences or medical sciences.
∎ At least 8 years of experience working in program management and TB implementation at national, directorate or Upazila levels in Bangladesh, clinical understanding of TB and knowledge and experience of TB program management.
∎ Direct, recent, experience working at or in close collaboration with the NTP. Proficient using a computer software (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel and other databases, etc.)
∎ Experience with grant development and management including activity planning and budgeting, preferred.
∎ Exceptional written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills in English and Bangle.
∎ Keen attention to detail and an aptitude for problem solving. Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
∎ Participate in calls or meetings outside of normal business hours as needed.
∎ An effective team member Experience with USG grants preferred.
∎ Understanding of fixed amount awards preferred.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Together with the Country Program Manager, liaise with USAID, NTP, grantees and other key stakeholders.
∎ Provide technical oversight of awardee processes and deliverables. Specifically, review technical content of training curricula and e-courses, review data dashboards and analysis to ensure priority TB indicators are addressed, provide technical input into the design of a TB ECHO – virtual mentorship program and help build the capacity of NTP to take leadership in ECHO.
∎ Participate in routine calls with the TIFA US team5%Participate in pre-award assessments for all awardees.
∎ Together with TIFA Country Program Manager, conduct regular follow-up calls/meetings with awardees to monitor progress in award implementation, troubleshoot issues, and agree on any support or next steps required. Periodically make visits to awardees and observe programs on the ground. On a regular basis, provide brief written updates on award implementation progress.
∎ Review and approve milestone submissions, provide feedback as needed or forward and communicate with the US office when deliverables are ready to be forwarded to USAID for approval.
∎ Where needed, provide capacity strengthening support to awardees as agreed with the awardee, TIFA and USAID.
∎ The Tuberculosis Implementation Framework Agreement (TIFA) is a USAID-funded project implemented by JSI Research and Training Institute Inc. (JSI). The project issues grants to local entities, building on USAID’s investment in TB disease programming while increasing countries’ capacities to plan, finance, monitor, and sustain their own high-quality TB programs on their journey to self-reliance.

∎ TIFA funds National Strategic Plan priorities in Bangladesh to support the National TB Control Program (NTP) address challenges or gaps in the national TB control response. JSI seeks a TB Technical Advisor to service as a liaison with the NTP, grantees and other key TB stakeholders to help co-design awards and guide awardees in producing high quality deliverables that meet NTP’s needs and expectations.
