Job Context:
∎ Democracy International seeks to hire a team of four consultants to serve as Victim Service Mapping Consultants (the "Consultants") to identify medical, psychological, and social services available at no or low cost and develop a directory of the services that can be shared with the legal service providers. The consultants will also be expected to provide the identified service providers with information on how to access legal aid. The completed directory should include information for government legal aid services and will be shared with all listed organizations. The Consultant must also be willing to travel and adhere to tight deadlines.
∎ The Consultants will work individually, each consultant being tasked to undertake the exercise in five pre-determined districts. Applicants are strongly encouraged to identify their preferred working areas (A, B, C, or D) and experience working in those areas in their cover letters. The following groupings of districts is set and no changes will be considered.

∎ Reporting: This position reports to the Legal Aid Component Lead. All deliverables and payments must be approved by the Chief of Party.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Visit 5 pre-determined districts and research available support services through both in-person and virtual means.
∎ Develop a list of the available social service organizations,
∎ Visit the identified social service organizations and provide information on legal aid and seek their permission to be included in the directory.
∎ Collect relevant information to be included in the directory in a clear and organized fashion, including (to the greatest extent possible) telephone number, point of contact, address, and services provided.
∎ Qualifications
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience in conducting social mapping or similar exercise
∎ Extensive knowledge of at least one of the districts included in the study
∎ Fluency in Bangla, strong English skills preferred
∎ Knowledge of the Bangladesh justice system and/or social services system preferred
∎ Experience working with vulnerable and marginalized groups in Bangladesh preferred
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ It is expected that the Consultant will work no more than 20 days on this assignment for a period until March 30, 2023. The Consultant will be paid bi-monthly against a timesheet. PPJ will bear the travel expenses in accordance with its official policy.
