Responsibilities & Context:

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of cleaning and housekeeping staff.

• Prepare and monitor duty rosters, shift schedules, and staff deployment.

• Ensure cleanliness of patient rooms, wards, CCU, ICU, OT areas, corridors, washrooms, waiting areas, offices, and other hospital premises.

• Ensure cleaning activities are performed according to hospital hygiene and infection prevention standards.

• Monitor the proper use of cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, equipment, and housekeeping materials.

• Inspect assigned areas regularly and take immediate corrective action when required.

• Coordinate with Nursing, Infection Control, Administration, Maintenance, and other departments regarding housekeeping-related matters.

• Train, guide, and supervise cleaners and housekeeping personnel regarding proper cleaning procedures and workplace safety.

• Maintain attendance, leave, performance, and disciplinary records of cleaning staff.

• Ensure proper handling and disposal of waste according to hospital policies and applicable procedures.

• Ens·   ure prompt response to cleaning complaints received from patients, attendants, staff, or departments.

• Perform any other duties assigned by the management.

Educational Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized institution.

• Diploma/Certificate in Housekeeping, Hospitality Management, Facility Management, or a related field will be considered an added advantage.

• Candidates with relevant professional training in hospital housekeeping and infection prevention will receive preference.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in Housekeeping, Cleaning, Facility Management, or related field.

• Experience in a Hospital, Medical College, Hotel, Corporate Organization, or Large Facility will be highly preferred.

• Candidates with previous supervisory experience in managing a large team of cleaners/housekeeping staff will receive preference.

Additional Requirements

• Age preferably between 32–45 years.

• Strong supervisory and team management skills.

• Good knowledge of cleaning methods, disinfectants, housekeeping equipment, and workplace hygiene.

• Basic understanding of hospital infection prevention and control practices.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to operational issues.

• Basic computer literacy, particularly MS Word and Excel, is preferred.
