Minimum 6 –8 years of experience in cost and fixed asset management.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Cost Management
Develop and maintain product-wise and batch-wise costing for RM (Raw Material), PM (Packaging Material), WIP (Work in Progress), and FG (Finished Goods).
Prepare Batch Feasibility Studies for new product launches and evaluate profitability.
Monitor actual manufacturing costs against standard/budgeted costs and analyze variances.
Collaborate with Marketing, R&D, SCM and Production teams to validate cost data.
Review imported raw materials costing, including freight, insurance, and duties.
Provide costing insights for pricing strategies, tender submissions, and export quotations.
Support regulatory cost audits (e.g., Drug Administration pricing approval).
B. Fixed Asset Management
Maintain a comprehensive Fixed Asset Register (FAR) covering plant, lab equipment, production machinery, IT, Transport assets, and facilities.
Ensure correct capitalization of assets and pharma industry capitalization thresholds.
Oversee asset tagging and maintain records for compliance.
Coordinate periodic physical verification to ensure asset integrity.
Monitor depreciation, asset impairment and disposal in line with IFRS and tax requirements.
Manage assets in CIP (Capital Work in Progress) for new facility setups or expansion projects.
C. Budget Preparation & Control
Lead the preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets in alignment with corporate strategy.
Coordinate with all departments to gather budget inputs and validate assumptions.
Develop and maintain budgeting models and templates for consistency and accuracy.
Ensure the integration of sales forecasts, cost estimates, and capital expenditure plans into the budget.
Prepare variance analysis reports highlighting key deviations and reasons.
Monitor and control operating expenses (OPEX) and capital expenses (CAPEX).
D. Compliance & Reporting
Ensure compliance with IFRS, IAS and regulatory requirements.
Prepare monthly cost analysis, fixed asset reports, and management dashboards.
Support statutory and internal audits with required documentation.
Ensure asset and cost records are audit-ready at all times.
E. Process Improvement & Controls
Implement cost control measures to optimize manufacturing expenses.
Develop SOPs and Manual for cost and asset management in alignment with standards.
Recommend automation and ERP enhancements for costing and asset tracking.
Identify opportunities for scrap reduction, yield improvement, and wastage control.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Expertise in pharma cost structures and regulatory costing.
Proficiency in ERP (Oracle, SAP or equivalent) costing and fixed asset modules.
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and industry-specific accounting.
Analytical, detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally with Marketing, SCM, Production, R&D and Sales.
