Responsibilities & Context:
Design Shop Drawings: Prepare detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings for fire-rated doors and frames.
Hardware Layout: Create precise templates for panic bars, hinges, and lockset installations.
Material Inspection: Verify raw materials (steel gauge, rockwool) against fire-rating standards.
Production Monitoring: Oversee factory fabrication to ensure doors match approved designs.
Final QC Testing: Conduct dimensional and functional checks before product dispatch.
Standards Compliance: Ensure all designs follow UL, BS, and BNBC fire safety codes.
Site Measurement: Visit project sites to take accurate opening dimensions for production.
Technical Submittals: Prepare documents and drawings for consultant and architect approval.
Record Keeping: Maintain quality inspection reports and design version controls.
Issue Resolution: Identify manufacturing defects and provide technical design corrections.
Education: Diploma/B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or Architecture.
Experience: 2–5 years in a Fire Door or Steel Furniture manufacturing plant.
Key Skills: Advanced AutoCAD, knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, and familiarity with Fire Service & Civil Defence (FSCD) requirements.
